Maybe it's the same as Shockwave/Galvatron colours always being a bit lighter?

Kurona wrote:It makes sense that he's a little shorter, assuming all Titans have the same amount of plastic and bulk. There was no way he was ever gonna be bigger, that's for sure.

I've been looking at CW/Legends Ultra Magnus and Legends Ginrai for absolutely ages, trying to see if there's any piece Ginrai kept from Magnus. Even pieces as minor and unnoticeable as the thighs and hands seem to be completely new.
But the only pieces that I think they share... would be their wheels. I'm looking at them, and I think they are the same mold. Can someone with both toys confirm? This is an absolutely insane retool.
Yeah, I asked Powered Convoy about this awhile back and he confirmed that the only unchanged parts shared between Ultra Magnus and Super Ginrai are indeed just the wheels and that little circular piece. If it weren't for Powermaster Optimus Prime acting as the middleman between these two, I'd think they were completely separate molds using shared engineering (a la G2 Smokescreen and Energon Starscream) with a few shared parts (a la TR Blurr and Chromedome), instead of one being a heavy retool of another heavy retool of the other.chuckdawg1999 wrote:Kurona wrote:Right, so, someone with both toys help me out here with this extremely pedantic point.

I think the circular plastic piece that is part of the cab/trailer connection is the same
