I don't think we have really gotten any Titan Masters with this guy's vibe the only one that comes close to it is Nightbeat's TR partner which was also a little generic and this guy here is painted pretty well I mean come on he has painted eyes!

I too cant really place where its from, but I have seen it in some japan mecha show or another.

Ok, just noticed that Legends Godbomber has his own Headmaster/Titan Master, but who is he styled after?

I think he looks like Cobra Commander with a red visor. Either that or Soundwave with a silver head.

They look odd. There's a reason they look odd, which most people already guessed, but having a reason for it doesn't negate it. It justifies it. It does not stop it looking odd.

I stop counting oddities in this franchise the moment a small yellow horned 'bot transformed into a not flying saucer that ran on wheels in a fully metallic world back in 1984.

Odd as in he has short stumpy feet that does not visually match the humanoid appearance of the rest of that robot. Nothing you said has anything to do with the visual appearance of Ginrai's feet being stumpy. I'm just saying knowing the reason for it does not change the fact it is.

So what you are saying based on my previous statement of the feet being designed the way it was for the Godbomber part has nothing to do with its flat design having nothing to do with it by your "personal" standard is odd? Or there was a running change from the prototype image I posted which actually had protruding feet but might have been changed because the protrusion when combined with Godbomber might have added extra cost for the extra plastic that would have meshed in the combined form.

Well, personal preference for you then at its being odd.

For me, anything this line throws at me no longer surprises me at it's being odd.

Well it's the closest. I don't expect Takara to break out an entirely detailed new one use mold. Though I wish they did.

Well nothing I was just saying that at least the head titan master is an original mold and not another Stylor repaint like most of them have been.

Yes it brings it up to more if you count Japanese or exclusive versions of the same character but even with just one per character that is still 1 guy being used amongst 4 separate characters.

I've watched the show. There are no characters related to those two who look like that Headmaster's design.

Power master Optimus was originally supposed to be a head master and Roller would become his head the Roller robot mode looks a bit similar to God Bomber's head master here.

A stretch, indeed. The shoulders are the only similarity I see, but even then, just for their being block-shaped.

For all we know, the source of inspiration may not even be something directly tied to Ginrai or Godbomber, but rather something indirect instead, like how Sixshot's Titan Master, Revolver, is based on one of Chromedome's friends, Jack, who happened to have been one of Sixshot's many murder victims in The Headmasters cartoon.

It's loose but that head looks pretty close. And some of the body shapes too.
Is that an abandoned concept?
