He knew that, he asked which parts have been retooled. It can be quite drastic, to the point anything above the waist is new, like with RotF Cannon Bumblebee.

The character doesn't work perfectly with ANY mold, really, but she fits Arcee's profile the best. The original character wasn't a transformer at all and wouldn't have any vehicle kibble.

Yeah I know, it's kinda weird. I was exited about Slipstream and Blackarachnia, but Nightbird, ehh it's kinda awkward.

For lack of anything better. Nightbird and Arcee share the same overall profile, both being female-shaped in fiction. The only real difference is that Nightbird as a man-made non-transforming robot has no kibble, while Arcee has those shoulder piece from her car mode.
The line philosophy that every toy must be able to transform (look at Movie Scorponok) and the choice for the Arcee mold as explained above, basically forced Nightbird to sport kibble.

Black Widow, and I already have the Animated one Slipstream... maybe if I can find only her. I'm gonna pass on Nightbird, so army builders can have them all.

I am getting the feeling that nightbird is the weaker of the three. I dont care since I have no clue who the character is but looking at the pics, it seems she doesnt have a huge backpack and is instead a sleek ninja type character. Did they only use the arcee mold for the hips?

Besides, C/G's is a modern take on G1, not slavishly G1 toon/toy accurate. That's what MP's are for.

I assume the only hopes for a cartoon accurate non-transforming Nightbird lie with 3P's or that company that made the Alpha Trion figure. Don't remember who, but it was die-cast'y and Revoltech'y.

But do you remember at the end of the episode, when Nightbird gave you an evil look? That suggested that she was more than just a robot, that she was alive, and she had PLANZ!

Maybe one of the TF engineers/designers/artists like Yuki Oshima will create a back story on why Nightbird Shadow has a transform mode? Dr. Fujiyama must be one lonely cyberneticist like the designers of GF Chromia.......too much time without his wife or an oneesan.

ES Gokin. It's like over a year now and they still haven't released their non transforming Elita-1 and Arcee. Nightbird Shadow would be a no brainer for them.

I pulled the trigger on Slippy last week. Knightbird last night as soon as I saw the prototype shots (ya, I was up late).
I'm not gonna go for Blackarach just cause, but MAN, she does look AWESOME!

I'm increasingly happy to have my preorder for all 3 already in place. These are gorgeous. Every pic gets better and better.

I preordered all three of these femme fatales as soon as they were offered on TFSource, and each new picture of them just strengthens my resolve that all three are a wise investment and MUST HAVES for diehard collectors. I think this is the most excited I've been about Transformers collecting in ages. The hits just keep on coming from both Hasbro and Takara.
