If you're honestly having an interwebs fight over a toy, that makes you a fanboy too, bub.

just. wow.

nobody likes complainers. but worse than that, people complaining and giving no insight as to why theyre complaining. its easy to argue against something thats as juvenile as "that sucks barf lol" because we can easily list the myriad of positives. you want to be taken seriously? be constructive and respectful. i say i dislike things all the time, but i do it without insulting the product or those who enjoy it.

The guy kind of made himself an easy target to begin with. Not that hard to rustle some jimmies in the fandom. Even easier is having fun with rustling said jimmies.

i am a fan and a boy so that does make me a fanboy, but to freak out like u guys are over me not like this guy, now thats got me laughing hard....

but i dont take it to extremes like most of you, and to call me an easy target cuz i dont like this mp, hahahah that proves to me that u guys are way to sensitive over other ppl opinons. and thats the sad part.

i made my comments about wanting to puke and thats how i felt, i really do, cuz it effing sucks.

deal with it

yea right dude, u can say whatever u want. " i made sarcastic marks etc" bs, u really felt like that otherwise u would have not went outta ur way to make those comments.

whatever, i guess u think u are some kinda god of transfomers cuz u make a billion posts.

fact is i pissed u off cuz i dont agree with your godly opinion on this guy. and instead of saying, hey man why dont u like that, which i was hoping ppl would get into after my comments, boy was i wrong, and i was wrong cuz i came off like a troll, but that wasnt my intent, i just made a fast comment and moved on.

and yea maybe i should have not made the puke comment only, i should have included the reason, like i did after. but u still took it to another level of nonsense.

Oh brother.

FWIW, I didn't choose this title. It's the forum's ranking system for users with post counts over 10000. I started as a Mini-Con and worked my way up just like everyone else.

Psycho Warrior, The Happy Locust, Shadowman, Tammuz, Predaprince, Tigertrack, Auto Bot, Rodimus Prime, Darth Bombshell, Mkall, JelZe GoldRabbit, Dead Metal, Casual Matt, Arc the ZAKO, 1337W422102, Blurrz, Raymond T., Redimus GTS, i_amtrunks, steve2275, Maximus Prime, Abrogate, and Chosen all hold this same title as myself, and many of them have far more posts than I could ever hope to have.

This is how the post count ranking system works for us ordinary users:
Mini-Con 0
Micromaster 50
Minibot 100
Fuzor 200
Vehicon 300
Combiner 400
Headmaster Junior 500
Targetmaster 600
Pretender 700
Transmetal Warrior 800
Gestalt Team Leader 900
Headmaster 1000
Brainmaster 1250
Godmaster 1500
Gestalt 2000
City Commander 3000
Faction Commander 4000
Guardian Of Seibertron 5000
Matrix Keeper 7500
God Of Transformers 10000

I couldn't change it even if I wanted to, and frankly, sometimes I wish I could. Who am I to be called a god?

aight, i got you man.

listen, let me be the first to say, sorry for busting balls. I still do not like this guy, but that may change, but right not.

my problem isnt really with you, my problem is that it seems that ppl cant handle personal opinons at times.
Its hard to tell cuz its on the internet, but i wasnt dissing anyone that liked this guy, i just threw in my 2 cents and that was it. Now i can understand that ppl took that as me being a troll, but trust me ive been collecting for 20 damn years, im not troll, i just know what i like and what i dont! simple as that.

i think in the near future ill def state a more relaxed opinion, cuz its really true, Tf fans are a lil combative when it comes to ppl dissing or not liking something, esp in regards to me not like the bay movies at all lol, but thats a different story.

so Sabrblade, i have no real beef with u, other then the fact i dont like what im seeing with this guy, but in the future maybe we both should be a lil more cool headed?

anyways if u want to see a change in the way ppl treat u, then u have to be the change lol. thats what ill keep in mind the next time i make a post lol

until then, till all are one......... :BOT: :CON:

I don't like Star Saber. I hate the look of the toy. In fact, I've disliked nearly every exclusive g1 Japanese only toy that was produced. I get why people don't like this. He looks a little bit like a gundam. Not really, but enough of one.

I know the takara-fans are really pleased with this, but to me this is another misuse of resources. That's just my opinion though. To me it is annoying that time and energy is being devoted to video console transformers, ho-hum masterpieces, and other wastes of time instead of true and unique development of the brand.

They are good at painting the figures and the masterpieces are really wonderful, but I just feel that the efforts get misdirected.

I mean, this guy should see a masterpiece figure...but should it have been right now when I would have liked to have seen another character?

That's my two cents.

I have been into transformers since 1984.
While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.
It's easier for me to say which are my LEAST favorite toy lines: Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise.

However, what Sabreblade said in comment to your post was pretty darn close to what popped into my head after reading what little you had to say, without further explaining yourself and stance more clearly.
One neat benefit of the internet, and computers in general, is you can type something and save it, sit and think, and even reread and analyze what you have to say before deciding you just gotta post that on the webs forever for all to see and tear apart as they see fit.

Well, it's only happening now because of a poll. Had he not won, any other winner would have still been someone who came years after all the early G1 dudes who are currently getting MPs. Regardless of this MP being Star Saber, it was gonna be a special case figure outside of the norm no matter who would have won.

He got green lighted because of a Japanese Tomy fan poll he won hands down. And the Japanese fans vote not only with their cursors but also with their wallets unlike the noisy Western fans.

The Japanese fans get first dibs. So the product is targeted for them. I rarely hear Japanes fans bellyache at the cost of their products sold for them. Western fans are the most noisy in their opinions when it comes to price.

To the other poster, about Star Saber's "Pope-Eye" arms, he's V-Star component is designed that way. As an armchair engineer/designer, "How" would you implement a more proportional arm then without affecting the entire leg "booster" part of the set?

This is speculation on my part but, well Satr Saber more or less is a fan wank of the original designer to the RX-78 GUNDAM"s G-booster.........only this one is waaaaaay cooler.

I know, I remember reading about it. That's the problem. It was going to be special case figure outside of the norm". I mean, that's cool...but I still think it is a strange jump to do. Especially when I'd like to see some other thing first. Got no problem with a post season 3 character, there are just some I'd like to see first, and it seems like there is a very eclectic plan. I mean, maybe after we get the transforming famicon and the bears that turn into bears (robot bears) we'll get some more focus on MPs.

I know people have their own projects and stuff... but I'd prefer a focus on mainline toys and masterpieces. I could do without all the weird stuff like transforming ballcaps.

Well...at least for a while ;)

If this were a random, isolated incident done out of the blue for ill good reason that for the sake of doing it, I'd agree in finding it to be odd and out of place. But it's meant to be a celebratory case for the 30th anniversary.

If any time's good enough to temporary break out of the standard procedure to do something special for a one-off, I'd say an anniversary celebrating 3 whole decades of success would be the definition of opportune. :D

After all, they've already done Convoy/Optimus and Rodimus in MP form, and both Bumble/Bumblebee and Ultra Magnus were already in the works. So which other big name Cybertron/Autobot from the time would have been left for Japan to have picked for this occasion? I can't see anyone like Jazz or Ironhide being huge enough in Japan to fully represent an event this big. That honor usually falls to the leaders (or to mascot-level characters like the aforementioned Bumble/Bumblebee)

I say "Cybertron/Autobot" since I really can't see them going with a Destron/Decepticon for the anniversary since the good guys seem to typically be better received in Japan, and a hero is generally more appropriate for a commemorative case like this than a villain is. ;)

As for Masterpieces that people want, 3rd party has got that covered. With a 3rd party MP Megs on the way along with the MP-scaled Dinobots, those will be the closest you will get to official at least up until Takara stops milking molds and Hasbro to quit jamming their thumbs up their arse about releasing Masterpieces people actually want. Case in point, Soundwave.

Seriously, I still kinda blame both companies for being a bit on the slow side of figuring out what people want out of the line even after the days of rereleasing different versions of The Seekers and Optimus Prime along with the early QC-ridden days of the Masterpiece line.

this is what i take issue with. misuse of resources? so MP's 1 through 23 were all for us, and your upset about them getting one directed towards them personally? we dont deserve ALL the attention (especially with how we act sometimes).

Ok. the idea that the first MPs were "all for us" is a little silly. They had "western" g1 stuff too. And if I remember correctly, they get the MPs first...if we even get them at all.

What I'm saying is that we should do MPs with the proper linear progression. The Major 1984 lineup then 1985 and so on. I just don't want them focusing on something else and missing characters. That's all. I want Shockwave...and wouldn't mind Insecticons.

The idea that they were graciously creating stuff just for us "western" fans is not my understanding of the situation.

What I'm saying is that we should do MPs with the proper linear progression. The Major 1984 lineup then 1985 and so on. I just don't want them focusing on something else and missing characters. That's all. I want Shockwave...and wouldn't mind Insecticons.

The idea that they were graciously creating stuff just for us "western" fans is not my understanding of the situation.
there is a linear progression, in a sense. the only out of place MP's weve gotten so far are because theyre mold mates with the season 1 guys theyve been making. aside from starsaber of coarse, but those were special circumstances. whether or not that opens the doors to a movement of different MP's, we'll see. i certainly wouldnt mind if they skipped ahead sometimes (i really want an MP galvatron and company).

I would like that too. I know Star Saber is a special consideration. Other than him not being a real favorite of mine, I'm not upset about him really. What I don't like are the little extra stuff no one really asked for. Transforming pens? Looks cool but not really what I want to get. That sort of stuff.

I just don;t want them to be too distracted. That's a little pushy of me, but it's how I kinda feel.
TFCon List: Classics Skywarp, General Optimus, BW Airrazor, Transmetal Tarantulus, Alternity Prime, Fire Convoy

Sentinel does the pens (and the giant non-transforming Scorponok).

You know, Takara and Hasbro license out the TF brand quite a bit. They're not personally invested in every TF product that comes out.

Between the endless bitching over here on how he doesn't deserve an MP and the utter butchery of his character in the comics (from what I understand they turned him from a noble and righteous warrior into a frothing mad religious zealot)...It really sucks to be Star Saber.

It's funny to think that in Japan he's one of the most beloved Transformers ever, and yet in the west he gets no end of hate, despite most people having never watched Victory.

(Once I've finished Season 2 of G1 I think I'll watch the Japanese trilogy. Season 3 of the cartoon kinda sucked anyway, and I think the Japanese trilogy replaces it and the movie.)

The Japanese G1 shows come after season 3, replacing "The Rebirth". The movie and season 3 are kept.
