Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.
Cobotron wrote:Maybe that's not the case at all. Maybe, the robots are supposed to be mechs piloted by the mini figures. The Falcon splits in half and becomes two mechs for Han and Chewie to drive into battle.

Honestly that's the only way I've ever looked at these, past or present since they come with pilots. Which made the idea of modeling the bot heads after themselves seem awfully vain.

I left out a part in that post about How the new Vader/Tie Fighter's Robo head looks just like Vader's helmet, but his excuse is vanity.
Did they all come with mini figs? I mentioned before I have Death Star Vader, and he comes with a bunch. Did the Deluxish size toys come them?
I have a Clone Fighter, and don't remember him coming with one.
Edit: And Cobotron said to himself, "Off to the Seibertron galleries with you, you fool!"

It's why some, like me, have lamented the lack of "mech with character detailing" instead of the "robot cosplaying as a character" aesthetic used. However, that Han Solo head sculpt is definitely a step in the right direction, IMO. Not enough for me to start collecting this line, however.
What's puzzling is that I couldn't really find many examples of fan art devoted to Star Wars vs (insert anime design here) mechs/robots online. You would think it was prime fodder for the deviant art crowd.

Not really, it's an interesting idea which has had a meh execution, Transformers turning into Star Wars or other franchise vehicles is an awesome idea.
Edit: I do agree that the first batch of Star Wars Transformers was bad on the most part.

The trouble is these things arent transformers. They're robots with cosplay masks. If they get rid of the star wars heads and replace them with Transformers characters it would be awesome. Or generic robot heads would also be awesome. But if Darth Vader had the ability to make his Tie Fighter transform, do you really believe he would make the head a giant version of himself? Thats just incredibly dumb looking, dont sugarcoat it.

As for Vader being "vain". If that were so, why wouldn't he have a suit that looked like Anakin, and by extension, a ship and mech that were identical?

Because he's not Anakin anymore. Sure they're still the same person physically but he stopped being Anakin the moment he saved Palatine from Windu. As far as the suit goes he didn't design his suit, Palatine did and with Palatine being his master Vader wouldn't have changed it. The vanity goes hand in hand with his dramatic acts.

Then, couldn't his tie fighter and thus mech have been designed by someone else? I doubt his lightsabers have little Darth Vader helmets as the pommels, right?

If the Vader persona is how he views himself and wants others to view him then why would his hypothetical mech be designed as anything else?

Because he's the second in command of a large empire? He wants to distinguish himself from the random soldiers. But his tie fighter is designed the same way it just has sight modifications. There are dozens of tie designs that all look different but still share the same basic elements.
