Taking a quick break from all the upcoming BotCon news, let's take an exciting look at another San Diego Comic Con exclusive, courtesy of IGN, the set that all Dinobot lovers have been looking forward to: Generation One-inspired Age of Extinction Dinobots! The set includes Grimlock, Strafe (decoed like the original toy of Generation One Swoop, to boot), Snarl, and Slag Slug. Also included in this set is a set of platforms designed after the Autobots' base of operations, the Ark, which is actually made of the set's packaging! MRW I see this set:

THIS is an SDCC exclusive in hyperdrive. Definitely up there with last year's Metroplex.

In all seriousness, I can see why they went with the original toy rather than Swoop's cartoon model: his coloration would be too close to the regular retail release of Strafe if the cartoon model was used. I'm actually surprised Sludge/Slog is not included, though. :-?

wow. just wow. Those dinobots are beautiful...and that playset. wow.

You know, had they just made the actual toys a subdued metal color I would want them. I don't like the bright blue, red and purple really.

These just seem so much better to me even if its bright.

I really want this set! I don't think I'll have a problem dropping a dime on this Effer.

Time to take back my retail Grimlock, Strafe, & Slug!

Truth be told that I would really like to see Sludge done up in the same paints as this set.

This is EPIC...must try to get from hasbrotoyshop.com. This undoubtedly will sell so damn fast...probably faster than Metroplex did. I don't want to have to pay Ebay scalpers $300+ for this set :sad:

Grimlock: Me King. Me think Hasbro should get off pompous ass and offer pre-order rather than make fandom wait for poopy site to crash. Fandom good. Hasbro bad. Hasbro when you listen to Fandom?

While the colors aren't one-hundred percent accurate, I still like these. Honestly, as a suggestion to anybody picking these up, I'd put them in with your IDW/GEN line. Just sayin'.

Nice! And here I thought Slash was replacing Snarl as the 5th dinobot. Glad to see that's not the case.

all you people saying its not worth the price are not looking at the big picture. Most likely this set in good condition will earn up to 300 dollars in a year or two. this happens when a transformers fan comes upon this on a website or sees it in pictures later and did not buy it. these are a limited run and will be hard to get after a month or two. I'm guessing double the price for new in box. but it will still hold value even if used and good condition.

if youre on the fence have the money buy it, enjoy it, and if you don't like it sell it. no harm no foul.

Love the playset! Wished Hasbro would go back making actual playsets like the Cobra Terrordrome and Pit years ago.........or been the USS Flagg (made in the US of A to boot)
