I was going to say Amuro, because of the size difference between Mobile Suits and Knightmare Frames, but then I never memorized half the mech names in Code Geass, and thought you meant a basic Sutherland. (Which would be slaughtered instantly)

I've actually got to say Orange-boy would win this. The Sutherland Sieg could hold it's own against higher-end Gundams, like the Zeta Gundam, or the Nu Gundam. Amuro would survive the fight, being a Newtype and all, but the Gundam is destroyed.

Weapon: Atom-Smasher Cannon
Amuro could outfly Orange-kun on a fodder Nightmare casually. Giving him the RX turns this into rape.

Zeta Gundam?

As in... the gundam whose pilot is fannicknamed Kamille "Beamspam" Bidan? He wouldn't stand a chance. Nu Gundam? He would be dead before Orange-kun even properly warmed the engines on that ball he calls a mecha.

What are the odds that Orange-kun's geass canceller works on Newtype powers?

I don't think so. Newtype powers are natural, and the Geass Canceler only undoes the effects of Geass, such as Shirley's memory wipe.

The "Live On" Command would screw it up, though.

Okay, now give me one instance of the RX-78-2 being capable of flight, within Earth's gravity. (IE, inside of a Colony doesn't count)

Why would he need to fly when Amuro at full newtype powers was nearly unable to miss an oldtype.

You need to be newtype or atleast SEED mode to not die instantly against Amuro. There's a reason why's the best pilot. (Though thanks to G Gundam, not the strongest... mostly because he can't lift buildings.)

If Amuro was such a badass, he wouldn't have gotten his ass shot down by an incomplete Zeong.

As for needing to be a Newtype to fight Amuro, Ramba Ral wasn't a Newtype.

Well for the record, Amuro was fighting Char in the Zeong, and lord knows he's a hell of a lot more badass than Amuro.

For Ramba Ral, while he was hardcore and did do a number on kicking the **** out of Gundam, Amuro was still a pansy at that point in his career.

I'd like to say Amuro since he has the whole spidey-sense thing going on.

But I never watched Geass so my opinion would be biased.

It all depends on the abilities of the Gundam itself, it's reaction time vs the reaction time of the Geass.

We all know Amuro's reactions are spot on, but, wasn't it like not even half-way through Gundam that he noticed it's controls were too slow for him?

Okay, time for the Geass Crash Course:

Geass is something of a limited psychic ability, which has to be given to someone personally, and manifests differently for any of the users. Only a handful of characters ever used Geass on the show, and only two were shown being able to give it on. (The person who bestows Geass previously had their own, but traded it for the ability to bestow it, and also immortality)

Of the ones shown on the show were Command (Able to give someone a command which they must follow. You could tell someone to kill themselves, and they would commit suicide with a smile on their face.) Telepathy, Memory altering, the ability to see a few second into the future, the ability to make people immediately love you, (More useful than it sounds) and the ability to halt people's perception of time. (Which looks like time stop, until you look at a clock and realize that time passed normally)

While a Geass is usually willingly activated by the user, overuse causes it to always stay "on," meaning with the Command Geass, anything you said would happen, even if it was only hypothetical, while telepathy causes the user to hear the thoughts of everyone around him. (Ten times as maddening as it sounds)

No one is this fight has Geass, but Jeremiah "Orange" Gottwald has the ability to cancel out certain Geass, such as undoing a Command.

Moreso, he has a mech that outclasses the Gundam by quite a bit.

EDIT: There are also catches to certain Geass. Command can only be used on each person once, and the user needs to make eye contact. Overusing Time Stop (Meaning using it too frequently on too many people in a short time) causes incredible stress on the user's heart, eventually causing them to die.

Amuro during the attack on Odessa was a pussy compared to Amuro in Char's counterattack.

Yes, unfortunately, this isn't Amuro as he was in Char's Counterattack. Which, I assume, is why it was chosen for Amuro to use a heavily outdated One Year War Mobile suit.

EDIT: more appropriately, is that Amuro's strength, or is it the strength of the machine he uses?

On pure skill and precog, you have to agree Orange-kun doesn't have **** on Amuro.

True, but from what I understand of the Geass rundown, Orange's machine seems far superior in reaction time and speed.

and by the end of MSG, the Rx-78 was a slug to Amuro, it just couldn't react as fast as Amuro could pilot it.

Amuro would survive, and could kick Orange's ass, if he had a better machine.

The RX-78-2 took out the Big Zam.
Now picture Sutherland against Big Zam: 2 seconds and that's not Big Zam getting owned.

Even in the obsolete RX-78-2, Amuro still managed to take on both the Big Zam and the Elmeth and come out on top. 8-)
