RUMOUR: Images of Possible "Metallic" Repaint of Voyager-Class Megatron?

Postby Skowl » Wed Aug 01, 2007 8:43 am

User Chenkofs of ACToys has posted images of a peculiar new figure. A silver, metallic version of the Voyager-Class Megatron figure from the Transformers Movie toyline. It is unknown at this time whether or not this is an official figure, or a custom-made fan repaint.

See the images by clicking here.

And see the gallery for the domestic version of the Voyager Megatron figure by clicking here.

A little better than the bright gray the other versions have been sporting lately. Though he still looks like he's sporting feathers.

WOW! I really like that! I hope it's real. If it isn;t someone did a FANTASTIC repaint...
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Official would be nice, except for the blackface...

That's gotta be a custom, no way Hasbro would spring for that much detail.

I've read the posts. Sounds like an official repaint release. Though the posters are saying the same things we are probably thinking:

1. Why does he still have the ice crap and
2. Why couldn't they do the leader repaint instead?

By the way look at Dada1812's Avatar. Love this Transformer!

If they could do an official metallic repaint like this on the Leader-Class Megatron, I'd sell mine and buy that in a heartbeat.

Even the black face on this one isn't as bad as the one on the normal Leader Megatron we have now, at least on this one (custom or not) you can see the most of the molded features on the face and they put the paint on all the right places at least.

Forgive me if it's been mentioned, but there wasn't mention of a Galvs repaint, was there? Granted, one could buy it and simply call it Megatron, But doing such a dull one and trying to pass it off as someone else is so...Hasbro.

I already liked voyager Megs better (and the ice doesn't bother me at all), but this looks great to me. I guess I'll hold off on buying Megatron to see if this is real or not.

This figure blows no matter how you paint it. The ice totally ruins it. I assume it would look like crap if you could take off the ice. I don't know why Hasbro just didn't make the ice something you could take on and off-frozen Megs, thawed Megs. And the crappy, unarticulated fingers are the "ice"ing on the cake.

Movie megatron figures suck. No one can make a good one I do like how he looks in the movie but toys are BAD! The cartoon one looks really good though.

seems more like a re-entry megatron, so the ice shoulsd fade into red to represent flames.

Yeah, the toy is still awful. The Voyager version is the worst. The new paint scheme is good though, hope it makes it's way on the Leader class toy one day.

Looks head over heels better than what we have now. Not that it is that great to begin with. This smells of a fan custom job though. Looks too nice paint apps wise for something to come out of HASBRO given their production quality control of late.
BWOP: "Die-cast construction...It's a lost art!"

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

True, I guess they do open but I'd like to see them have a joint in them to really grasp like claws-that's what I meant to say.
