If the retail version of that watch actually works, I'll definately pick it up.

Anyone else think the controller will get a black/neon green repaint?

I don't know, they'd have to remould him so he'd be more bulky.

but the game controller? hmm, i dunno
Cool TF watches return. I used to have a pair of TF watches back in the 80's A Red Autobot one and a blue Decepticon. They were really cheesy transformations, just pull out legs and arms, pop up head. but they were really cool. Can't really say if they were actually licensed Hasbro products, or just some knockoff with an autobot and decepticon logo plastered on. but i loved them.
I'm sure to get one of these.
The controller, not so much. Reminds me of transmetals Optimus Primal.
I had those watches also...i believe they were actual licensed products...but then again i was a kid, i wouldnt have known.
I do recall Takara's
Kronoform (beware popups) robot watches being repackaged under the Transformers name (G1-style packaging and all) and sold at stores like Kay-Bee. I actually have the silver Kronoform figure, which included some very TF-style art. I even made him a Decepticon named "Timewarp" in my collection as a kid, and drew a Marvel-style model sheet. I was about 12 when I did this (the other two modes in the drawing were supposed to be space cannon and spaceship):
