Prime 1 Studio Transformers MMTFM-15 Barricade Images

Postby Va'al » Thu Sep 28, 2017 11:33 am

Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
We head back to the Facebook page of Prime 1 Studios for a new look at their latest product in the Transformers movieverse line: MMTFM-15 Barricade, in his first incarnation from 2007 (not the bulkier The Last Knight one)! Check out the description and images below, head here for the full album, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub!

MMTFM-15: BARRICADE (TRANSFORMERS 2007) "ARE YOU USERNAME: LADIESMAN217?" Prime 1 Studio is proud to present MMTFM-15: Barricade from Transformers Film. Barricade is apparently a complicated robot. He believes that Starscream is vital in their search for Megatron and the AllSpark. In many ways, this makes him Starscream's closest ally in the naturally combative Decepticon ranks. Then again, it's been said that he likes to trick people into trusting him, just so he can see their reactions when they find out just how much of a bad idea it was. As such, he has disguised himself as an Earth police car in an attempt to fool the humans around him. Statue features: - Size approx. 30 inches tall [(H)64.5cm (W)50cm (D)43cm] - LED Light-up function on head - Limited quantity worldwide Retail Price: $1499 US Edition Size: 750 Prototype samples shown. Product details could be subjected to change without further notice.

I do love the even more cop-like version in TLK but damn I do still love his original look here too. That's a very cool figure for rich folk.

Prime 1 Studio Museum Masterline Barricade, Crosshairs, More at Tokyo Comic Con 2017

Postby Va'al » Fri Dec 01, 2017 12:03 am

Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
Just as we report on the latest statue offering from official license-holders Prime 1 Studio - the MMTFM-19: Crosshairs release, just newsed here - the Transformers areas at Tokyo Comic Con also bring us some closer looks at this one figure, and the previously shown MMTFM-15 Barricade (first newsed here).

Also included in the images below, mirrored once again from Twitter user 7777_diver who is present at the event taking place this weekend, are previous releases in the Museum Masterline Transformers Movie (in the sense of live-action films) line from the company, such as Shockwave, Ratchet, and Jazz. You can check them all out below, and let us know what you think of these high-end not exactly collectibles in the Energon Pub Discussion Boards!

Ewww....thats a face only a mother can love. Im still dying to see whos actually buying these damn $1500 statues. Is this not the same fandom that wants to buy POTP Optimus as a "stand in" for MP-10? Is this not the same fandom that complains about a $50 import tax? Is this not the same fandom that left Walmart shelves clogged with Bayverse toys 5 times already? Who the hell spends $1500 and a non-transforming statue? Especially one of a character who barely did anything in the movie?

Yes, because every fandom is a singular entity, and if any two people within that fandom hold different opinions then it's hypocrisy and needs to be called out! Image

Bear in mind that if we take the production numbers for say, the Crosshairs statue, then if 1050 people - 1050 people in the entire world - decide to buy it for the asking price, then all the stock will be sold and Prime 1 Studio will be totally satisfied. On the other hand, if 1050 people the world over buy a copy of every single movie-related item, or purchase an MP-10, or don't complain about import taxes on the internet, nobody's ever going to notice the slightest difference.

Not that I'd ever buy these in all my years either, but don't confuse general consensus for unanimous opinion. Some people do want to buy these, and if they decide they want to spend a few thousand dollars on non-transforming statues, that's their prerogative! :D

Well im genuinely curious exactly what type of Transformers fans buy $1500 statues. My first thought might be movie buffs who also have statues of Predator, Iron Man, Terminator, etc. But then I think those guys probally wouldnt buy characters outside of Optimus Prime, Megatron, or Bumblebee. But Crosshairs? No way ! Thats a character only a hardcore Transformers fan would buy. So where are the hardcore Transformers fans that snub MP to collect $1500 statues? Are you out there? (crickets chirping)

One thing I noticed about these statue threads on both here and TFW is that you never see anybody posting the usual comments such as "it will be mine" or "pre-ordered on sight" or the infamous "shut up and take my money" meme. Where are these uber-rich super fans of Transformers? They sure arent here or on TFW. What kind of hardcore fans buy $1500 statues but dont post on fan sites? Its mind boggling. I recall BBTS asking for a non refundable down payment to pre-order one of these things. Cant say that I blame them, but it leads me to believe these things are really made to order and the whole "limited run" is a lie to get you to believe the makers sell more than 15 or 20 of them. $1500 x 1000 = 1 and a half million. I dont believe they make that much off of one statue when Takara cant even get 3,000 people worldwide to pre-order Grand Maximus for $250.

That's also true, I've never seen anyone sharing their desire to buy these things. But there must be a fair few of them somewhere; I'll readily admit I don't know anything about the toy production process, but I have a hard time believing they'd make their money back on the whole production process if they only sold double-digit numbers.

I've got no idea where these mystery buyers are, but I'm sure they must exist since these statues just keep comin'. I think you might actually be on to something with the idea that they're being bought mostly by movie buffs and the like - it's quite possible that purveyors of high-end collectables who liked the Transformers characters as a child (for the G1 statues) or appreciate the live-action designs (for the movie statues) but don't care about the actual toys, would spring for at least one or two of these.

It seems weird, but it might explain why they tend not to show up on fan boards like these. Paradoxically, they may not be big enough Transformers fans to buy a bunch of cheap kids' toys or join messageboards to talk about the franchise, but they just might think fondly enough of the characters and/or designs to buy a $1500 statue or two, if they're that kind of collector already.

Another theory I have is these mystery statue collectors might all be living in Asia and dont read or speak any english. They might be rich guys that work for successful tech companies. The type of guys that live in Tokyo or Hong Kong high rise apartments. People that are not connected with any crowd except business friends and really hot Asian chicks. As much as "geeks" are associated with sci-fi franchises, when you spend that kind of money the girls will party with you lol.

Probably the same kind of fans who don't hesitate to buy those 1000$ MP-10 special repaints, AFA-graded sealed G1 Transformers, or Lucky Draws.

If they keep making those super expensive statues, it's because many people DO buy these things. They are just not vocal about it I guess.

On my end, I bought two statues in my lifetime.

A 200$ MTG Spirit Link statue (Instead of an Unlimited Mox Saphir at the time):
Image

And a 400$ Cutey Honey statue (Instead of a PS2 at the time):
Image

Their value kept going down and down and down. You can still buy both for like 1/4 of their original price, brand new and sealed.
Both end up having some fingers broken off due to mishandling/cats. So now, both are totally worthless. I just can't bring myself to throw them in the garbage.........

So, even though that Shockwave above look INCREDIBLE, I just can't bring myself to spend more than 100$ on a statue. Breakage risks are real and the long term value is iffy at best.
Come see my latest creations, SHATTERED GLASS G1 METROPLEX, HERE!

Prime 1 Studio Teases Statue of "Jetfire Optimus" from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Postby Qwan » Fri Feb 02, 2018 11:50 pm

Motto: "There's no such thing as a no-lose situation, but if you try your hardest, you'll lose the least."

Prime 1 Studio, notable manufacturer of licensed Transformers statues, is back at it once more, this time sharing a teaser image on their Instagram: a close-up of a gray, prototype statue based on the Transformers franchise. While only the lower torso and upper legs of the statue are depicted, details appear to closely match Optimus Prime's powered-up-by-fallen-ally form seen in the climax of 2009's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen film.

Variously dubbed "Jet Prime", "Jetfire Prime", "Jetfire Optimus" and other similar iterations by fans, this memorable configuration formed by Optimus Prime and a dismantled Jetfire has received a few toys over the years since the film's release, but lacks a high-end collectable quite like the ones Prime 1 Studio is known for. Once the statue is fully revealed you can bet we'll share the news, but for now, check out the current image below and on Prime 1 Studio's Instagram page.

Does the idea of a Jetfire Optimus statue appeal to you, or is it just too much ado for something with such a brief (albeit memorable) appearance? Let us know your thoughts in the Energon Pub Forums, and as always, stay tuned to Seibertron.com for your daily dose of Transformers news!

Sneak peek of the day.

I'm just now noticing that Movie Optimus' crotch makes a funny little face. Thanks Prime 1 Studio, for helping me to reach this great epiphany.

Not quite as funny as Mr. Elephant on the original 2007 figure's belt buckle.

Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
A new update comes our way from Prime 1 Studio, the licensed makers of high-end statues featuring Transformers characters in a range of different styles of aesthetics - specifically today, the Museum Masterline Transformers Movie (live-action) MMTFM-20 Bumblebee, modelled after his latest iteration in the Paramount series, Transformers: The Last Knight!

You can check out below a selection of the images released, as well as a description of the figure and its accessories and features, and head here for even more to look at.

$1500 ??? I could put a down payment on a real 2007 Camaro get the **** outta here lol. Why would anyone even buy this when the new MP movie bee costs under $100? (and it transforms) Is there like some small country in Asia where people love transformers but hate transforming them? Who buys these these damn statues?
