Transformers Cybertron Skywarp



VEHICLE MODE


Skywarp is supposed to be futuristic military aircraft. That's why i Decided to abandon original colours and replaced them with hand made pixel camouflage.


Vehicle mode got new scratch made stabilizers. I also filled all the panel gaps with black paint. This gave bodywork some more „dimensional” feel.


The robot hands can be rotated or positioned under the wings, thanks to new ball-jointed elbows.


Caouflage is also present at the bottom of the vehicle mode. „Metallic” parts were drybrushed and got some detailing.

ROBOT MODE


Robot parts were painted black. I also added some purple details, to give my custom more Skywarp feel. New elbow ball joints improved prportions, enhanced articulation and gave Skywarp more natural look (if Huge camo decepticon can be called natural). I also filled some of the gaps in robot parts to give them more „full” look.




I decided to paint Decepticon insignia in Transformers Prime style. Now emblems are silver and their slots were filled with black colour.


Close-up of the head. I gave it some silver and purple details. The chinguard was painted black, which distinguishes Skywarp's head from original Starscream concept.




Skywarp kept his dedicated arm swords. I painted transparent plastic with mix of mat black, drybrush, purle and gold. You can also see Iron Man 3 inspired finger painting.

That is totally wicked. How did you do the digicamo?

The digital camo is just all sorts of win. You had me sold when you used Starscream, but Starscream in camo? Oh lawd, I nearly fainted with pleasure.

This is just too cool for words. One of the best custom paint jobs I've seen in quite some time. I am very highly impressed. I've done standard cammo jobs before but I don't even want to imagine how long it took for you to hand paint the pixel cammo pattern. That would have driven me nuts especially if my OCD got the better of me during the process. I salute your skills and choice of mold to use. Perfect fit.

T-Macksimus - I must have had expressed myself incoherently. The camo wasn't all hand drawn. I drew all the templates, cut them, applied and painted whole part (did this few times - for each colour). Later I removed templates and hand painted camouflage details. This is more or less how pixel camo was made:) Thank You for exhaustive comment.
