Doesn't change the fact that it was completely unnecessary. I remember watching that Star Trek and just... being ashamed at that part. At least in Transformers it... kinda serves a purpose. To be honest, the purpose itself is unnecessary, but at least it makes sense in context. I don't exactly remember in what context that scene in Star Trek was used, but I remember it being there for absolutely no reason.

Just so it's clear, you do know who that character was and her connection to Kirk in previous Star Trek media, right? If not, then go watch Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (wonderful movie, btw).

I agree that it was in poor taste, but if I was forced to pick between two evils, I'd rather have a movie with only 1% of unnecessary shame than a movie that has unnecessary shame written all over it (lookin' at you, ROTF *shakes fist*).

Well according to some.....If Michael Bay is still in charge......it won't matter who else they'll hire or get to produce or write for it.....coz Bay will still shape & fashion it to his own design.....just like he did with the previous films. We can but hope that he ISN'T in charge......then we may get a different & possibly better style of films.

From the same source as the last big piece of news for the Paramount Transformers franchise, Deadline, we have a very rumorous rumour, and please take it as such until there is any confirmation whatsoever. It appears that the current writers (post-Edgar Wright) for Marvel's upcoming Ant-Man movie, Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, have joined the writers' room for the expanded universe - and may be behind a prequel project by the name of Transformers One - set on Cybertron. You know what would be astounding? If they were to make such a prequel adapted from those comics. I mean, they already have the story material available for them to use and take from, so all they need to do is take the stories of the Movie Prequel, Defiance, Foundation, etc. and put them on the big screen.
