After seeing the back of CW Prime's box, I'm disappointed they went with "Ultra Prime" rather than "Omega Prime" for the combined mode's name, and equally disappointed that the limbs for it are three Aerialbots and a Stunticon (seriously?).

chuckdawg1999 wrote:So we're getting a legends Thundercracker AND a Leader version? Also according to the press release all the legends become an add on for the combined figures so does that mean Huffer, Thundercracker, and Windcharger are going to be slightly remolded to do something else?

Apparently somebody somewhere loves Thundercracker for some reason.

As for the retooled legends? It'd be nice, but I don't think it'll happen, that was probably just a standard blurb because the new molds work that way.

What do you mean someone loves Thundercracker for some reason? He's a very interesting character, much more so than Skywarp. Basically like Sabrblade said, he's like the Dinobot of G1. A Decepticon with honor and a moral center. He's also kinda like Drift but didn't choose to join the autobots.

That's what I'm kinda hoping, also hoping that they're not numbered so I can skip Huffer guilt free.

Fine, fine, though I'm pretty sure IDW continuity is the only one where any of this really comes across.

Well, it's a good thing that the Generations line has become very much linked to the IDW comics as of late.

Seaspray's not getting a new toy any time soon because IDW isn't making use of him.

Well, it's not like he's the only one not getting a new toy. There are tons of G1 (and non-G1) characters out there who aren't coming down the pipeline, so Seaspray's not much of a notable absence.

And we did already get that Voyager Sea Spray toy in 2010 that many like to use for their Classics/Generations Seaspray.

I just grabbed him as a random example. I was going to say Terrorsaur, but I thought better of it.

All I'm really trying to say is that Thundercracker is lucky that IDW picked him to make important. And now I wish I'd never started down this road, because it's overshadowed my annoyance with the "Ultra Prime" thing, which is an actual complaint, while Thundercracker moving up the popularity chain doesn't bother me.

Maybe they want to save omega prime for something better down the line like if they decide to make a prime that combines with an ultra Magnus ;)

As for the stock photos maybe they're just using them while they put the finishing touches on primes limbs ;)

I do believe the spotlight is because of the IDW comics, in which both Jetfire and Thundercracker are playing bigger roles again, even if secondary some times. :D

Yeah, Thundercracker's been well written character in IDW since the ending of "All Hail Megatron" (one of, if not the only, things that maxi-series did well).

Given the "Minimus Ambus" thing in the IDW comics, I don't think a combine of Optimus and Magnus would work storywise, and Generations is currently meant to go with IDW's comics.

And even if you're right about that second part, the choice of Dead End is still weird as hell.

I meant the prime/Magnus thing as a joke really, IDW comics have opened up to referencing other continuities but I doubt they would put in the awesomeness that was omega prime from RiD, Hasbro themselves have probably forgotten it exists as well.

Hey guys and gals, just wondering about next year's generations figures. Hasbro confirmed 16 deluxes right? And we have seen 8 of them so far which will make up Superion and Menasor. Do we assume the other 8 will also be combiners?
If the answer is yes, then I wonder who it would be and since I don't read the current comics, I wonder: who are the hotter combiners right now? I was always partial to Predaking and Devastator and would love to have upgraded versions of those, but they are both decepticons so at my luckiest only one of these would be part of the Combiner Wars.

Defensor and Devastator were recently confirmed to be in the Combiner Wars comic storyline, though many are doubting if Devastator would be getting a toy or if a toy could be feasibly pulled off, what with Scrapper being dead and Prowl now being the head.

Does the fact that Devastator is made up of 6 and not 5 transformers weaken the chance as well?

From what we've seen, it looks like combiners are made of six figures: Voyager torso, four Deluxe limbs, one Legends er.. part/chest/thing.

So maybe there's a cheat around it..? :-?

From what we've seen, it looks like combiners are made of six figures: Voyager torso, four Deluxe limbs, one Legends er.. part/chest/thing.

So maybe there's a cheat around it..? :-?

Wouldn't help the scale as all G1 Constructicon toys were the same size. Also, the 6th member is entirely optional, like Pirancon's gun

Although, looking at IDW Devastator more closely, and considering RL scale of some vehicles, Long Haul is the perfect candidate for upsizing should it be needed. Dump Trucks can be gigantic!
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

- Jelze Bunnycat =:3

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1 (plus repro Victorion hands and feet?)

Defensor and Devastator were recently confirmed to be in the Combiner Wars comic storyline, though many are doubting if Devastator would be getting a toy or if a toy could be feasibly pulled off, what if Scrapper being dead and Prowl now being the head.

Does the fact that Devastator is made up of 6 and not 5 transformers weaken the chance as well?

Also, with Prime being redeco'd as the torso for his own Combiner, I can easily see Hasbro making a Prowl redeco of the torso segment Devastator would have. Like that he could serve as both a reimagining of G1 (GHUG) as well as the IDW devastator. Actually, I bet they will do exactly that and would be more surprised if they didnt.
