Star Convoy is from "Return of Convoy," appropriately enough.
Zone was the last piece of JG1 animation. Return of Convoy had only a series of story pages (whose art was drawn in the same style as the JG1 cartoons, though) and one manga chapter.Rodimus Knight wrote:Wolfman Jake wrote:Hellscream9999 wrote:Unless you were asking what lines they originally came from, then armada prime comes from armada/micron legend and star convoy comes from a japan only sub line of G1, but I don't know which one specifically

So there is an actually bit of animation to go with it or was that just the name of the Japanese Toy Line?

Yes, which is why we don't know what line they'll be in, they could even be in a new one to celebrate the 35th anniversary. But that's not all, they didn't even officially name the characters, simply calling them "S" and "A" on their placards. And that itself is strange because the "A" which we assume stands for Armada isn't what the show was called in Japan. Could they be retconning the character as Armada Convoy now? Considering all the characters he could be teamed with plus Minicons that's not a bad choice.
Does make me wonder if they could be planning a heavy further retool of Siege Leader Optimus Prime in the future.

"S Convoy" and "A Convoy", actually. Using "Armada Convoy" isn't that strange: like Armada Optimus Prime, Optimus Primal was originally just called "Convoy" in Japan, only receiving the "Beast" add-on during Robot Masters to distinguish him from the original (who went by "G1 Convoy", but that didn't really stick). Plus, "Armada Convoy" has seen use before, as the name for that Bendy Prime redeco in Cybertron when it was imported in Japan.
