According to whom?shockblast2 wrote:I am not talking about storyline purposes ultimately. As far as aligned goes, IDW is only linked because of the borrowed designs of WFC/FOC versions.
shockblast2 wrote:As far as their storylines, or universe as some say, they are totally seperate. IDW is not G1 as it is not Beast Wras, or any other mythos that came before or after these examples.
Technically, the WFC/FOC designs that IDW took were specifically of the video game CG models, not those of the toys.shockblast2 wrote:But I am talking toys here. And thier designs have been used interchangably. Does that mean the storylines are the same or do they exist in the same universe. NO.
Except that what you call "G1" differs from what everyone else does, as evidenced by so many disagreeing with you.shockblast2 wrote:Just like what we call G1 does not exist in the IDW version.
The WFC/FOC designs were developed by High Moon Studios which Hasbro then adapted into toy form. However, High Moon Studios had no involvement in Trailcutter's toy design, nor did High Moon even create a WFC/FOC Trailcutter/Trailbreaker design.shockblast2 wrote:But, does that mean it is feasable to insert a IDW Trailcutter into a FOC/WFC figure collection. YES. Why? Because they use their designs.
Not when the design has no affiliation with High Moon Studios.shockblast2 wrote:Does geewun Hoist and IDW Hoist look the same? NO. Laughably no. Not even the cartoon. What about WFC/FOC Hoist? Never used. That is the beauty of it. IDW can feasibly be FOC/WFC Hoist. It CANNOT be geewun Hoist. Get it?

Prime Wheeljack got his altmode on Earth in episode 32 "Loose Cannons".shockblast2 wrote:Also going to use Prime Wheeljack as my WFC/FOC collection. Why? Because his alt mode wasn't acquired on earth as he had it when he arrived
shockblast2 wrote:But these are clearly feasible. Shoe horning Enrgon Constucticons into your collection is not. That is my point.
None taken and glad to hear it.shockblast2 wrote:Ultimately though, the debate is just for fun. No hard feelings.
Then what was with all the fuss at the beginning of all this?shockblast2 wrote:You can buy whatever you wish and fill the holes in your collection with whatever. I have done it myself. How do you think I know about al those figures I mentioned??

IDW comics
Club fiction (which is a continuity nightmare)
Yes, some of us are pedantic. Of course, Classics, Universe 2008 and Generations are G1 for us as well. The WFC and FOC designs are Aligned and not G1, were it not that some designs were used by IDW as G1 Cybertronian forms...

Which IDW comics? RID and MTMTE are definitely not, as they are part of the new Generation One timeline, started with Infiltration. Fall of Cybertron, Rage of the Dinobots and Beast Hunters are part of Aligned.
Do you mean ReGeneration One?

I was talking both old and new G1 I do recognise RiD and MTMTE as "new" while ReGeneration One picks up right after the old Marvel G1 comics.
