From my understanding, those are NOT meant to be claws, but RIBS. (not the ribs he had in robot mode on his legs and torso mind you, but raptor ribs.) why they're pointed upward like that I do not have a concrete answer for you, but not even hasbro would put 2 sets of claw hands on the same figure for no reason. They're ribs, not claws.Mr.Bond007 wrote:Overcracker wrote:Psychout wrote:What's with the extra claws in his chest?
I think he meant in Raptor Mode. Not the bone like rib design he has in robot mode, but the actual claws under his dino head. between his dinky little arms. There seem to be 2 claws like he had his feet in the old toy.
However in robot mode those claws really aren't used for anything as he has fists now. So he has 2 gratuitous claws in beast mode that only make his chest look really bad.
However I think he's a good update, but for some reason i like the original toy better.
ahh ok I see what ur talking about maybe they wanted to make him more show accurate because in the show he had claw like hands idk it just looks bad I'll still buy him though.
People are whining that it isn't show accurate because its SUPPOSED to be in homage to the beast wars character. Homage gets lost in translation with transformers fans and is converted into "direct retool/redesign/show accurate new mold."Badass Grimlock wrote: I am NOT whining. just merely pointing out my point of view.

I reckon TakaraTomy might get his deco more show-accurate.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
Dead Metal wrote:If those should be Raptor ribs, why the fu** would yo be able to see them in dinomode?
Those are his robot hands to imitate his show look, the fists in there are so he can hold weapons.

I can see someone's ribs protruding from beneath someone's skin, I fail to see why this is any different. Plus its a dinosaur, theyve always been protrayed as being bony, especially raptors. Why those things are pointed upwards? no idea. As for the imitating his hands from the show, thats another possibility, but I fail to see how that works too considering in the show and old toy.... his hands were the claws on the feet... and not like wolverine claws.

Whether he is mistransformed or not, is not the issue.
Its the fact that he has a pair of useless claws in beast mode. which seem to only fold back in robot mode. Why not just chest panels to make the best mode more rounded and complete? What is the purpose of the three fingered claws there?
I guess we'll need to wait for a review to find out what the claws are for.

If you have a look at his dino feet you will notice that they changed the trasformation for this release. His dino legs are his robot legs, his dino claws rotate to reveal the robot feet. You can even see the orange fists in his dino chest:
See they forgot to rotate the dino feet.

I'll repeat what I said in regards to the "feet"
"... no idea. As for the imitating his hands from the show, thats another possibility, but I fail to see how that works too considering in the show and old toy.... his hands were the claws on the feet... and not like wolverine claws"
What I would like to mention is I highly doubt hasbro's intentions of putting those "vestigial limbs" there were meant to be interpretted as another set of claws. Its not necessary, and not even hasbro is that stupid. There has to be some sort of reasoning to them and the only reasoning I can see at the moment is in dino mode theyre to be interpretted as ribs (awkward yes, especially because theyre facing upwards and not outwards from the chest), and in robot mode they are to somewhat imitate the look of his hands from the show, but it seems to be pretty poor job at doing either one because now they just look like they gave him wolverine's claws.
