That is the silliest thing I've ever seen. They have finally taken the whole 'Bumblebee' thing too literally. Classics BB is highly superior and I don't see the point in buying an inferior BB. *my wallet cheers*

an inferior BB? well the 6-10 year olds around spring next year who dont even know who BB is right now will want him, thats the general plan of hasbro.

TF movie did really well, so I think the 6-10 year olds know who BB is. If anything I could see the kids looking at Movie BB and Animated BB and being confused as to why they look so different. Although if the whole first season of Animated has already aired by the time the toys come out, then even the youngest kids would have probably figured out that Movie and Animated are two seperate stories about Transformers.

anybody still not get how he'll transform?
actually i think this packaging is better than fast action battlers and worse than classics.
I might just throw these boxes away. I hope decepticon packaging is better.
if there's no difference between these and decepticon packaging I'll be mildly pissed.
but these toys still look great.

i wish his hands flipped and the stinger slided out like in the trailer we saw.
ands now its not two blades, its one stinger.
still like it but he won't be my favorite. Soundwave probably will be my favorite.

I love everything about that figure. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Poor auction pics, but oh well ... better than nothing and adds to the mystery.

i like the artwork on the front. the boxes are still to messy and bulky. theres nothing that will want to make me keep these boxes unfortunately, I would have loved hasbro to use japanese energon style boxes, ie a real box rather like gen 1, easier to store and look so much nicer than a blister card, theres nothing quite so difficult to store as an open blister!!

i'd like to thank hasbro for allowing me to save my money by avoiding this line. packaging is bland and boring and these figs just don't look good at all. when did they decide to make bumblebee look like a freaking cat? horrific!

Sigh. These really do look like crap. I think for all the money I would spend on completing the line, I would rather take it and buy masterpiece skywarp to keep starscream and Megatron company.

But... I am compulsive when it comes to my collecting, and I will probably complete the line and store it MISB. Only need one of each though: NO desire to display or fiddle with.

Someone else mentioned thank god for collector's line, here here...

Why can't we (older, more dedicated fans and collectors and their ilk) get a more Furmanesque/IDW type animated series? Even a couple of well-done anime's? It seems like this property is red hot, keep the ball rolling! The movie was enjoyed by kids and adults alike, but the animated series and what-not is for kids, really...

"oh noes, they're advertising toys to kids using kid orientated cartoons!"

There's going to be enough references in the cartoon that we'll enjoy too. I mean, we all enjoy Dexter's Lab and Johnny Bravo still.

So his difficulty is a three out of a total of four?
I think prowl was the same, wonder what voyeger optimus is?

I am really looking forward to animated.
Although a side-line that dealt with the comics would be appreciated. Maybe after Classics 2.0/Universe(I really don't like that name.)

or maybe it could be a filler line between animated and transformers 2? depending on how long animated will be and when transformers 2 toys will start

edit:I still don't get why people are complaining about these being aimed at kids.

The first and only animated transformers show that was aimed at an older audience(still kids mind you, just older kids) were the mainframe beast era shows.

If it wasnt for that head it would be a great Bumblebee figure. We older fans are getting screwed on this one. I bet its because the movie line was made basically for us.

Not to derail the thread, but I beg to differ. With the movie they basically ignored the fans as much as they could and had their way with the concept. Don't mind me though - I still haven't quite gotten over how much better it could've been.

This Bumblebee is a must have. The new designs will be a lot of fun. I'm impressed how well they were able to translate the simplified cartoony aesthetic into the toys while still having working transformations.

I'm totally not impressed with this line. All others have been aimed at kids ( they are toys after all! ) but realistic enough to appeal to collectors and in my opinion these aren't. I think they really are JUST for children. I'll stick with the upcoming universe and current movies and classics for now. It would be nice to see a whole new series to collect but this isn't it for me and my wallet breathes a sigh of relief! I won't be getting these because play value and cartoon cuteness is not on my list of desirable features for a transformer purchase.

realistic? like the later gen 1 toys, beastwars, machinewars, armada, energon and cybertron. The only realistic TF (alt modes of course) were the original ex diaclone/microman toys (bumblebee was originally a 'realistic' penny racer) and some of the new movie toys and of course alternators.

I think he means 'realistic' as in 'detailed, not deformed, not looking like a cartoon, etc.'
