Don't worry Cujo, I'm sure another equally annoying gimmick will pop up.

Yikes! I'm officially frightened. I don't know what's worse, movie designs or these. If IDW doesn't continue to put out reprints and puts out more Transformers stories I should be set. I just don't like having to stick to 6-inch Titaniums which tend to fall apart. I mean come on Hasbro, give REAL Transfans something for a change like continiung Alternators or Classics. Number 4 is what really makes me pray that this doesn't create another eye sore on Transformers like Beast Machines. Regardless easy year for getting Transformers I want considering there are a few I want.

2 and 5 give me a Prowl/Bluestreak vibe. Would love to see Prowl.

Clone wars style? Initially Samurai Jack turned me off.But then actually sitting down and watching an episode, I realised how cool that style was so I loved Clone Wars when the SJ team done it.

For one thing, they really captured the essence of Star Wars.

Secondly, some of the best choreographed fights in animation.

Read somewhere today that the head writer from X-men and Ninja Turtles is working on the TF toon.If it's the modern ones,I really hope so. Love the modern Ninja Turtles cartoon and it's closeness to the original comics.

God if they adopted that approach and tied the TF toon in with the old Marvel TF comics, it would be a dream come true.

Clone Wars and Ninja Turtles are up there with Batman Animated, Batman Beyond, Justice League and Gargoyles as some of the best animated series ever.

Oh and of course, Beast Wars.

Special mention to the CG Spiderman MTV series from a few years ago.

Hopefully the TF toon will earn it's place among all of these excellent shows.

Now now, not automatically hating new stuff doesn't make anyone less of a Transfan than all y'all haters.

Do they automatically halt it and just throw out the cartoon line really fast?

Why would they stop the movie line just because there's another line of figures? They could always just release them at the same time, couldn't they?

Agreed! I haven't really followed a Tf series closely since Beast Machines, since I couldn't stand the animation and all around stories. Just didn't hold my interest. The fact that this is being made in North America has me excited, since I may actually be able to get back into a TF cartoon!

As far as those pics go, what the heck can we tell from that? I'm not even gonna try. Instead I'll wait for some real pics to comment on.

Well It looks like they are going to have long necks and it seems to going very Teen Titanesque. Which is...interesting. I guess it is too hard to try and make something not influenced by derivative fake anime crap. NOW if they were being influenced by say...Akira, Roujin Z, Memories or Steamboy I might be more enthusiastic. I am still interested.

No. They're both primary lines, so they'd be competing to fill the same pegs and shelves and for the same customers. Retailers aren't going to automatically double the shelf space alotted for the same brand just because Hasbro puts out a second line. If Transformers became an incredibly hot item then it might warrant it (does anyone remember way back when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Power Rangers had half an entire Toys R' Us aisle?) but as long as they can keep merchandise in the given space without unpacking new cases every day it isn't going to happen, and running both lines back-to-back would mean retailers buying less of both which would mean making new moulds would be less profitable. It's different with sub-lines like Alternators and Titaniums because they're aimed towards different niche markets.

Movie toys generally have a brief window anyhow. Released a few months before the opening, big sales around the dvd release, clearanced by Christmas.

Interesting... It is going to be another reboot of the series, I hope if it is decently written that it gets extended to 52 or more episodes.

Those clips don't give much, but I have a feeling these new designs are going to be very stringy with over exadurated heads, hands, feet, and hips.

Think Teen Titans, but with TFs.

I am surprised that no one has said anything about them hiring the writer responsible for the Beast Machines crap that not even the voice actors liked.

Beast Machines was so dissapointing as a Transformers series that at the end it turned out to be anything but Transformers. This man single handedly ruined the Beast Wars continuity and therefore G1.

Cyber Organic Cybertron, Give me a brake!

The animation style is a concern but the hiring of this man is my biggest worry.

Beast Machines co-writer Marty Isenberg is functioning as the editor/chief writer for the new Transformers: Animated series -- something that hardcore Transformers fans will not be too happy about (Isenberg's Beast Machines co-writer Robert Skir once had to cancel a convention appearance due to death threats from irate fans). Matt Youngberg (Teen Titans, The Batman) will be the new series' supervising director while Derrick Wyatt (Teen Titans, Legion of Superheroes) is providing the character designs and Cartoon Network VP Sam Register will produce.

At least it isn't Bob Skir himself! To be honest, I didn't like his work, but what kind of sick person would send him a death threat?!? :???:

Right, and generations worth of writing that can be summed in one sentence ("Let's combine!") was SO much better than Beast Machines. Maybe some of you just weren't old enough to understand the dark storylines of Beast Machines.

I have read in the article that it says this show will take place n a future era with both humans and robots both inhabiting the Earth. I wonder how far in the future they might be talking about, and wouldn't "robots inhabiting the Earth" mean that there's a lot of them and/or Cybertron has been destroyed? :-?

Could just mean a Transformer/Human earth like in TFTM or Season 3.

I don't think we should be so negative. Even if these are genuine, they tell us next to nothing about the upcoming show. It may be the most expertly written series since BM.

2nd one gives me a Prowl vibe.
3rd one gives me a Bumblebee one.

If these are real, they should give Transformers an appealing look for the younger set and hopefully the storylines can captivate an older audience.

Hell, as long as the toys are good, I'll be happy.
