A lot of great news...
I wasn't floored by any of it when I was sitting there. They spent a lot of time on the animated designs, and the toys from them. I believe that they have a lot wrapped up in this and that they really and truly are hoping for an awesome show, and toyline here. It's already better in my mind because it is being made here, and is not just a dubbed voices over another show, where there are weird edits.
FYI_ Archer's favorite character, Lockdown, is from the new animated series, and is onviously a new character.
Animated Decepticons are supposed to be more bad ass. According to them, when you see Megatron show up, you're supposed to take the deep gulp, and have that 'Oh $h!t' moment.
I believe they stated Ironhide would be made in CLASSICS, and that Ratchet was logical to follow, but not any time soon. They want to do molds that for the most part, lend themselves well to others.
I believe that while the chest and head are different on the twins, they are supposed to have the
same alt mode. It was hard to see from where I was, but it looked like the same car, just one was red, and one was yellow. Perhaps not though.
The Animated toys do look good.
They showed two Prime toys--the voyager size one was the Earth Prime with trailer/extended section that turns into at least part of, if not all of his axe.
The other Prime was a deluxe and was the Cybertronian mode. It's hard to describe, but it looked like a wheeled rolling platform, with a raised, slanted cab above it.
Bulkhead's toy looked awesome!!! Big huge, and mean! He has a wrecking ball to swing around too!!!
Each TF does have a special power--like a super hero--and there weapons are supposed to transform into part of the vehicle.
I love the fact that they are not doing stock transformations, and that the designs are not the ultra-toy realisitic versions we saw in Energon and Cybertron.
Cool stuff, but noting was fabulous, at least in my eyes, but good. Classics continuing is great, but just so you know, it was NEVER intended to continue. So those who are saying 'see I told you so', it was never in the plans.
It was a bridge and filler. It was meant to end. Only due to the fact that it was immensely popular, and supports the movie and show that it continues and we lose alternators, and titanium 6-inch.
Also, the UNIVERSE line is not just G1 CLASSICS. It is there for them to do other things that they would like. I assume, minicons, beasties, and the like.
And I don't think I saw this yet, but baseformers were brought up, and they said that there was something in the works that would take care of that desire for us. What that means we do not know, but at least they did not say no, as we were told last year, and before.
Who knows what that meant though???
Nice to see Asepticon here. I've interacted with you on the TFCC forums a bit, and I'm glad to see you joined here as well!
