(extremely small bit). which i can understand because as of the moment, developers are still favouring 360. but im hoping thats not the case. they will be alot better soon im guessing. (not starting a console war arguement,if thats what it looks like)
Multiplatform games usually look better on high end pc's, but as for the consoles the 360 usually wins on that one since it does actually have better hardware than the PS3. The PS3 lacks power in vital areas, and its alot more complicated to develop for hence why it usually has the inferior graphics because the developers get lazy, or simply cant figure out how to push the hardware. Sony messed up big time there.
I dont think we will see much difference when it comes to graphics between the two systems any more though. They are both (relatively) comparable systems and it wont be the massive difference we used to see when comparing xbox games to ps2 games that we saw in the past.
The only difference we will see is maybe slightly better load times for the PS3, better frame rates for the 360, better lighting and exposure for the 360(because all PS3 games seem to look washed out and bleached), slightly sharper textures for the PS3 and better particle effects for the 360.
Not really anything huge or drastic like last gen. The main differences and advantages and disadvantages now take the form of price tags and online capabilities and you havnt got to be an expert in games to know which of the two systems has the upper hand in that department.
I wont even give the Wii a mention as thats not even a "next-gen/current-gen" system.
very informative, thanks, I was wondering if I should buy a new game console. I liked the ps3 and thought it was better but you and a few others have turned me towards the 360 the only thing is I spend 75% of my time here in the Philippines and only the other 25% in the states the games here are ridculously expensive compared to the Good ol USA. I did however have my ps2 mod-chipped so I can get those games for pennys but I am not sure if you can bootleg 360 games if so
I havent seen that done here and this place is bootleg city. Anyways good post I learned a lot
If you have more money than sense, and want to buy an expensive blue-ray player that can play a few games with a bad online component, buy the PS3. If you want an already well established fanbase, an unrivaled online multiplayer community and loads of great exclusives as well as an easy on the wallet price tag, buy the 360.
As far as bootlegging goes, i dont think either of these systemswill work in that regard. Maybe in a few years down the line, but people havnt figured out how to chip 360's and PS3's yet. Actually i lie, people did manage to mod their 360's to play games, but MS has cracked down on modded 360's and basically banned them. If you try to use one on Xbox Live you wont be able to connect or play games online but i think you can still play older bootlegged 360 games. Not worth it if you ask me since Xbox live is one of the systems biggest selling points.
