i like this toy a lot, the alt mode is a little non descript but i really like the robo mode, clear parts providing some nice homage to G1 megatrons origins: microman!!

I'll be happy when the movie toys are pushed to the side to make way for a line that is more inspired, colourful and plain fun!! what i like about the animated line is that they look like honest to goodness TOYS!! awesome.

Hasbro, were getting sick of seeing 7 repaints of the same mold in less than a year. So when can we see the Shelformers Movie line off shelves so I can pick this up?

I like him. He looks great opposite Classics Optimus. Since both Megatrons, the Cybertronian one and the Earth one, are both voyager-sized, it'll be interesting to see which one I like better, and which one the fandom likes better.

Not to bad though.

I’ve noticed they haven’t been putting as many ratcheted joints in the figures lately, I miss the days of ratcheted joints.

Actualy, I've been redoing my shelves and have noticed alot of newer figures with heavy arm loads do have a type of re-enforced joint.

But whatever, you can't expect a bot to last long without the right structure to carry its weight.

I wonder how the Earth mode toy is going to look.

This is gonna sound dumb,
but what is his earth alt mode???

I think it's going to be one of those V-22 Ospreys.
Similar to Incinerator.

Is this official?
That's a little surprising AND disappointing...
Imo.

I must say that he is really turning my crank now. I can just hear Bumblebee saying in the Series:

"Granny Megatron...What a Big Gun You Have!"
BWOP: "Die-cast construction...It's a lost art!"

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

I judge shows and toys separately, but so far the Animated figures aren't looking too bad. I'm actually very fond of this Megatron. He looks...well, let's face it, like Megatron, and that's something we haven't seen in a long time. Certain characters should remain recognizable from incarnation to incarnation (Prime, Starscream, Bumblebee, Soundwave, Grimlock, and Megatron, to name a few). If his Earth-form toy looks this good as well, it's going to be a tough call on which one to buy. Might just have to buy both and stand them back to back on a shelf, warding off do-gooders everywhere!

i just saw the premier of the new animated series this morning. i didn't think the show was all that. the robin hood thing in the beginning was pretty corny and primes voice sounds a little too human. thats my opinion tho... i wasn't planning on buying any of the animated toys but after seeing pics of animated megatron, i just might change my mind #-o

That wasn't exactly the premier just in case you didn't know. It was episode 4, the first three were together in a 90 minute special.

Wow, I think this is the only line where I want to get every single toy, =P~ and all I own is Decepticons. 8)

I dislike Megatron's facial expression, looks like he is saying "DUUH!"

I'll wait to see it in person now though, it looks like it is going to fall short of my expectations.

The robot mode is not too bad, can't say i like his vehicle mode, i concur with the Cybertronian cockroach remark, its just a really weird alt mode. His robot head does remind me a lot of Beastwars Megatron, I think he could have a made a good Cybertronian mode for BW Megs, instead of CD Red alert.

But people, this is just his Cybertronian from, which you only see in the first episode if I'm not mistaken.

As for Release dates, i don't think they can extend the movie line as far as August.

I suspect we should be seeing these no later than April or May, maybe June.

We haven't scene prototypes of many of the other figures, or colored versions of the protos we have seen. but that can just mean Hasbro is tightening security on its molds so they don't leak out ahead of time.
