Weapon: Thermal Melters
Movie Toy Line repaints:
- Like it for the most part.

Robot Heroes:
- Look pretty cool to me.

Classics:
- OMG Sunstreaker and Sideswipe. Pick me off the floor someone. These look awesome! Nifty little design with the guns too!
- OMG Octane TC. Long live the Classics line. Taken on a more menacing military plane mode which works better for him. LOVE IT!
- Too bad they did not show the Seacons but we have seen pics of them before.

TF Animated:
- Something for the kiddies in all of us. Some cool moulds from which I may pick up a few. Depends on how good the show is. It has some potential.
BWOP: "Die-cast construction...It's a lost art!"

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

One thing about Animated though...why are they going back to the Deluxe/Voyager setup again? That was one of the selling points of the movie figures that got me...I love Leader Class figures, and I like Basics as well. :(

When I first picked up the Classics minicon Knockdown, I fell in love with it, he's my favourite minicon and one of my favourite Transformer toys ever.

I always wished they would make a bigger version of him, but it was such a silly, far-fetched "knew-it-would-never-happen" wish that I just ignored it completely.

First I get my Universe Seacons, now this strange wish has come true, in a way.

Thanks for posting that link. Interesting to watch. The show has some potential but it is very much for the 'kid' in all of us.

I appear to be in the minority in liking the TF:Animated toys. They are different to be sure, but I would rather see experiments like that and the movie rather than let Transformers stagnate design-wise. I can't wait for all of this stuff to get here, although I am sure my wallet will never forgive me.

I'm still worried that the kids of today will find the "animated" toys "too kiddy". They're acting "adult" earlier and earlier these days. If not, I might get one or two for my youngest niece. But these are definitely not for me.

Classics, though... Oooh yeah, if I can in any afford them, I will own some.

Edit: Forgot to bring up the actual series.
The first thing I noticed that this is the first Transformers show with a decent (version of the) themesong in a long time. Nice. Bulkhead transformation looked like Unicron Trilogy-style stock footage, which has me worried a little. I can see some of the old elements returning, though, and that's fortunate.

Double A said that the pics that were shown at Botcon (the same pics now being shown) were the concept drawings and that while Sunstreaker and Sideswipe would share the same vehicle mode, the transformations and head moulds would be different to better reflect that of their G1 counterparts. the Sideswipe shown is pretty much deadon from what he told us, and Sunstreaker will have the top of the car for the chest and front of the car for feet and so on. Even if they don't change those concept designs, both would be beyond excellent in my books.

I had seen the ressin prototype of Octane waaaaaaaaaaay back and I thought is was the greatest thing under the sun. Can't wait to see what Spring and the boys will look like!

I was hardcore dead set against the animated designs until I saw what the toys could be at Botcon. These photos only assure me further that those figures are going to kick major butt. I don't think I'll be watching the show but the toys! Those look great. C'mon those Dinobots are fantastic! If I had to complain, I'd ask where Swoop was. Oh, and Movie Cliffjumper? Sold.

Second, the only animated figure that looks half decent is Starscream. Is it just me or do most of the animated figures look like they wont be out of place in a Fischer Price line?

I like Starscream but wish he didn't have a Jay Leno jaw but I bet he will be the most popular

Wow, this isn't looking too bad, desert attack Brawl could be better but othe--OH MY GOD!!!! What the hell are those things supposed to be? EEEEEEEW! It's hideous!

Ok, initial reaction over... The "animated" figures are not too my liking. However I'm sure whoever at Hasbro designed those figures did the best they could...

EDIT: after looking at the figures a little longer I found myself no longer wanting to gouge my eyes out with RiD Megatrons wings & realised they aren't all that bad. I do like the new Bumblebee & Blackarachnia, but I am really not sold on any of the others. However I do understand why some others may like the designs.

Swoop is in the animated clip shown at the convention, so a toy wouldn't be too far off I assume.

Took some screencaps of the video, here is Lockdown the Decepticon (love that name):

Wow! I'm really loving these Animated toys!
I've never much liked the look of those pimped out SUVs with giant wheels, but I'm still strangely drawn to Soundwave.
This is looking like the first line I might have to be completist about. It's also the first new Transformers cartoon since I started collecting again...

Those few new Universe molds look good too.

At this point, I'm pretty much totally sold on the Animated toys. I love that they're using the prototype Renault Radiance as Prime's Deluxe alt mode. Too cool, as I love the look of that thing. Starscream in both modes looks great, and man I love the look of Prowl. They were two of the revealed characters I'd already kind of liked, but their toy incarnations are pretty neat. Oh yeah, and that Grimlock is freakin' awesome, I love the T-Rex head.

Classics looks great as always, with Octane being pretty kicking. Even the new Robot Heroes look great and those Beast Wars versions are gonna end up being must haves.

Movie line looks like it's going to continue to be a mixed bag. Not big on Brawl's repaint, or Evac, but the new Prime looks great, as does the Sector 7 truck.

we get three dinobots int he show and the other two in Classics, deluxes at that. So you'll have a full set of new dinobots.

EDIT: That clip made my day. I think I'm going to love that show.

These are just fantastic! I'm very excited about pretty much all of this stuff! I thought I was done with the movie figs. I got a few, but by no means was I out to complete the collection. However, the new stuff (especially Landmine) looks great! Not getting the repaints, though. The new Classics/Universe figs are going to be so very sweet (Octane might become my new favorite figure). As for the
Animated stuff...WOW! I really like 'em. I know I'm definitely in the minority, but I think they just look like a lot of fun! I just watched the clip, too, and I think it's going to look very cool. As long as it's got a more adult-centric type of storytelling (i.e. BW/BM), or at the very least GOOD storytelling, I'll love it!!

Highlights:
--Classics Octane
--Animated Megatron, Lugnutz, Blitzwing (while I really like all of them, surprisingly...these 3 are just wicked looking.
--Landmine (movie)

I've been so excited about these toys ever since Botcon. I'm so happy that everybody gets to see them now. Personally, I am totally looking forward to the animated toys. It's quite a departure from what we're used to, and I say bring it on!

-sigh- The TF Animated figures look good, some of them. I like 90% of them.

But I want to bitch-slap whoever designed the Dinobots, the alt mode(atleast for Slag) looks good, but dear god, the robot modes suck gigantic balls.

Although I must say, Blitzwing looks awesome, but his tank-mode is a little lacking.

Edit: Forgot to mention Swipe and streaker. I'm totally going to get them. But I'm a little disappointed in the fact that they're just repaints of each other.

I thought it was said at Botcon that they would look the same yet have a different Transformation.
