My RotF Silverbolt came with its legs misassembled(its knees bent forwards and it couldn't transform properly into alt mode) so I followed CP's guide, switched the knee parts, and now his legs bend the right way and transformation to alt mode is flawless.

I'm just happy that I didn't get a QC problem involving duplicate limb parts. If it had two left or right knee parts, I'd be pretty upset!

Try bending Silverbolt's knees. If they bend like a person's should, then maybe they've fixed it in later runs.

Meh, doesn't really bother me. Superion won't be shedding his FanProject upgrades and disassembling into his individual modes for a long time. BTW, did anyone else's upgrade kit come with 2 visors? Both of mine seem to be exactly the same. :???:

They do. The silver on the nose is what's different. One matches the energon version, the other the current version.

One of these day I need to do these swaps.

I'll do Silverbolt first and if he doesn't present any issues I'll take superion apart and fix Storm Jet.

I forgot to mention that the thighs of Silverbolt were misassembled too! The pegs that should be on the outside of the thighs:

...were on the inside so I had to switch the upper thigh parts too. My RotF Silverbolt was pretty messed up!

That was the case with every US E-Storm Jet...

Yeah, the picture shows the correct placement of the peg on the outside of the thigh.

Thanx for posting this tutorial. I finally got the guts to try this on Silverbolt and now it is a bit easier to transform him. It is also nice to have articulation in the legs, so thanks again.

Hey all, what's the best way to separate the lower leg halves? Mine seem to be stuck together pretty tightly, stopping me from swapping the knee joint bits.

I had no problems once I removed the screws of those parts...
