I know HasLab doesn't do stretch goals, but a Unicron head cookie jar would be pretty awesome.

Now I'm going to have to go back and re-read the IDW OP and Unicron comics with a "Nom, nom, nom" in my head everytime Unicron eats another planet.

That would make the story immensely more entertaining

His head *can't* come off? Seems like a pretty simple gimmick to include. I wonder if there's another feature they're not telling us about. With the need for backers they shouldn't be withholding any juicy details...

I believe it was John Warden who said that they had gotten so many requests for the head to be able to come off at SDCC that they were going to look at the possibility of it. I think he also said that there were just a few other things that they hadn't revealed, but were in the 3D printed figure they had there. I believe the HasLab team is probably trying to keep the hype at about the same level throughout the campaign by revealing cool little bits and bobs along the way.

For those worried that Cookie Monster is effecting the Unicron crowdfund, Cookie isn't exactly breaking sales records.



And it's a smart move for BBTS to take non-refundable deposits on Unicron. A fan using their option to order today may not be a fan in two years or no longer have the space or whatever. Never mind cancelling, some people aren't even going to pay for their invoice. And the kicker is that not only is BBTS going to get their deposits, but they'll still have a Unicron to sell at their full price.

It isn't just international fans that can benefit from the BBTS pre-order. People that can order from Pulse may not be able to drop $574.99 in August but have $155 and are willing to pay the extra $200 just for the benefit of having two years to save.

And it just occurred to me that in two years my Pulse membership will have expired (unless they do more free membership promotions) and I'm going to have to pay shipping on the big guy.

If there's "so many fans" that want the head removable, then why not make just the head for them?

What are you going to do with a headless giant Unicron toy? Stand the body in the corner and attach the head to the fan and turn it on low?

Know what? That could be the next HasLab project.
A Unicron head "doll-house". Details outside and inside, a few rooms on a few floor, 3 foot tall, 4 foot wide, gimmic-apalooza, lights and sound by plugging the thing into the wall socket, ect.
This could be the ultimate display piece to showcase Generations figures and the like!

So far the desired stretch goals are a fleshlight, a cookie jar and fan pulls.

Do we even like transforming things any more?

TFsource just put their pre-order up. It's $779.99, but there is no downpayment required, and shipping to the US is free.

I might take this option. By the time taxes and shipping are added to the pulse order, I'll only probably be paying $100 more on TFsource, and I can wait until it comes to pay so I can be ready for him

If I saw it right (and maybe I didn't), the planet maw and the robot horns are 2 different sets. It looked like the planet maw horns fold down behind Unicron's ass in robot mode. (Effectively making him even more of an assface.) Unless I saw it wrong. As for a head by itself, I would like it if they followed the Cybertron route, and come out with an equally large Primus/Cybertron figure that comes with a Unicron head as an accessory.

They don’t on this one, you can kind of see the planet “maw jaw pinchers” on the backpack. And as far as being able to remove the head, I imagine something akin to Fort Max and Cerebros wouldn’t be too difficult to implement. But in all fairness we don’t know what the head does in transformation yet. A removable head mechanism could require a complete redesign.

Winky face, I was just goofing. But for almost $600 maybe they did figure out how to mass shift plastic

I echo Burns comments here, on why the head even needs to be detachable. I can't see anyone actually using the feature when I'd rather time and money spent making the whole figure better.

I personally would rather it not have a detachable head, as there isn’t much point in something like that, when it would be too big to fit around current Primus. Also a giant Unicron body sitting in the corner would be silly. I think for people that want just the head of Unicron, the Cybertron dismantled head would be fine.

And there already exists a giant high-end collectible severed Unicron head anyway.

But wouldn't the feature be for play? Not display. I think it would make a neat play feature to be able to reenact his demise, but when the play is over you just pop it back on.

Honestly though, I'd rather they put the effort into giving him an uncompromised beard. I don't get why they can't just cut a triangle out of the bottom of the elongated chin they have already given him.

I was thinking make it transform a bit, like collapse into the chin, but with all the mouth/teeth articulation they make have used up all the available space. Might also why he is sporting a large wide chin, to hold the mechanism for those gnarly teef.

Dont't worry Hasbro has it all figured out. Unicron's detachable head accessory will come with the Primus crowdfunding project in 2022, for release on the 40th anniversary in 2024, Cost will only be $825 and require 16K backers. .....
