Besides this wouldn't be the first time Hasbro decided to do a re-mold repaint while working on a mold, remember Universe Sideswipe and Sunstreaker?

Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are a terrible example. If your going to make one of the Autobot brothers, then you're going to make the other. It would be like Bumblebee without Cliffjumper.

New paintjob, new head mold, and new weapons?
I'm sorry, but believing that Hasbro would do all that just so we could get a Blurr? That's just downright ignorance.

Bullshit.

Animated Lockdown and Blazing Lockdown as well as numerous movie line figures would like to have a word with you.

Also, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are great examples.

I'll be honest. I have Cybertron Blurr and that's enough for me. I have him sitting on the classics/universe shelf, as well as Cybertron Longrack and Universe Sideburn.

The mold for Drift is pretty sweet looking though and it would be interesting to see Blurr in that form. It would ALSO be interesting to see Blurr as his OWN updated mold instead of another repaint.

If a fringe character like Drift (yes IDW, I said fringe character) can get a brand new mold, why is it a stretch to think an established and popular character like Blurr can't get a little extra attention as a remold?

By the way, this just goes to show the influence Seibertron.com has on the Transformers community. First we see a Counterpunch figure, then a Blurr, I fully expect to get my own action figure by year's end.

As for Hasbro, they aren't the droids you're looking for. They are humans just like us. They've lightened up the past few years, and what is wrong with the specifics?

As for Blurr, c'mon, what was the answer you wanted? "Yeah, uhh, we're repainting Drift blue and he's just going to have the exact same head, some giant swords and we'll call him Blurr." Blurr's an established character since Generation One, and has been used in several of the main Transformers eras. For him to be Blurr, he needs to have the new head, he needs to have different weapons, and he needs the new paint job.

Bullshit or not, the fact that you can't open up to something like this shows you aren't ready for change. Go back to Generation One. [/color]

When did I disrespect Blurr!? And are you calling me some kind of elitest? I don't hate Blurr nor would I wish that he didn't get a figure made out of him!

I said that it is most likely an April fools joke. I don't question anyone's entire integrety as a fact database, just this one post! Jeez, no one's perfect.
I said it could be a prank, I picked it apart for evidence, I based my logic on the fact that it's 'to good to be true'. I understand that I've perhaps been a little too adament. But what was said in the Q&A is nowhere near the 'undeniable truth' it's being treated as.

Still I'll probably be proven wrong. Heck with my luck they'll have pictures up soon just to prove it!
And of course, I'll be happy that I was wrong.

I'd buy a Delicon Decepticon Gyro. Or maybe a Subway style 12". I want my own figure too, the alt mode could be a foot & a mouth, kinda like the Magmatron style combiner.

Blurr isn't the most important character if you look, I think this retool will work. Will be bought.

I wonder if Drift will have an alternate transformation, maybe for Blurr you can turn his windshield/chest upside down?

This retool could work, and this alt mode would be a pretty decent earth-mode for Blurr.

I just hope they can fit his signature head-crest into the transformation scheme without miniaturizing it like with Botcon Scourge. Not that it'll be a deal breaker if they have to do that, I'm just hoping that they don't.

I don't think it'll top Animated Blurr (in my eyes), but it'll make a pretty good Universe/Classics/Generations Blurr. Looking forward to seeing some pics.

they are a grate example as they originally wouldn't be a retooling as Sunstreaker would have been just a yellow Sideswipe.

I'm sorry, but believing that Hasbro would do all that just so we could get a Blurr? That's just ignorance.

Look the toy is based off Drift, a comic character only known to fans, and the majority of us hates him. They have get their money back on themold. Believing Hasbro would make a completely new mold for an obscure and hated character without planning a a repaint/retooling as a more well known character is ignorence.
Besides, the info still came through PGP.

Since when are they not a valid source of information? They have always posted their answers to the Q&A from the beginning.

You lot make me lol sometimes, arguing over whether a toy is viably predestined or not

Drift and Blurr share similar bot modes, Drift's design looks fast, a head retool and some new weapons is far cheaper than producing a whole new mold, of course Drift was going to be repainted into somebody. That somebody being Blurr.

It makes sense yo.

Besides, if Blurrz calls it you know it's going down. I wouldn't like to see what happens otherwise :P

Ah crap, I just realized the alternate mode is going to be piss poor. Ah, I'll quit complaining. IDW's current Blurr has that alternate mode, so it works.

Whether the rumour is true or not, i don't think this makes a good Classic G1 Blurr at all. I would rather see a new mold used for that, to better match his cartoon appearance. The mold would be great if retooled as Jazz or Wheeljack.

Yeah, definitely one of the best TF stories out there. Can't say best ever yet since it's not over, but so far, it's looking to be one hell of a ride. I would say not to wait for the TPB, but you are not gonna find any copies of LSOTW now so you might as well wait. But when it does come out, GRAB IT!!
