In my on-going quest to produce Targetmaster/Actionmaster partners for characters who need them, I introduce my latest work, which lots of people seem to have photoshopped but not actually done. So, fully expecting Botcon to do THIS one too after announcing my Scalpel (were there that many people who did Scalpel?) I present to you, Action Master Devastator's partner Scorpulator. Because what the upcoming CW figure needs most is MOAR GUN!!!
In the thick of battle, Scorpulator had previously been the Targetmaster to another, lost to the ages Decepticon warrior. Despite a vicisous streak and the mind more belonging to an attack dog than an alien robot, Scorpulator was loyal to the bot who held his trigger. Seperated from a slain master, shell-shocked and over-run by Autobots, Scoruplator scurried for the single biggest bot he could find for cover and trailed their retreat. The Constrcticons found him, broken and leaking, and took him in, fixing him up, providing him fuel and shelter. For that, he is thankful. But it's their Combined form that he has ultimately devoted himelf to.
As the Micron half of a Targetmaster duo, Scorpulator can convert himelf into both an energy booster for a traditional laser cannon, and serve as an Acid gun sprayed through his Scorpion mode tail. But the best thing he brought to Devastator was his ability to climb and cling to rough uneven surfaces. He climbs and skitters across the titan's body like scaffolding. From these perches, he fires on any Autobot foolish to try to take the Decepticon Titan down from up close, simoultaniously using the larger bot as his own shield. Arms Micron Scorpulator is a straightforward repaint of the Pral figure. I'm trying to match him to a figure that won;t be released for some time, an ballparked based more on traditional Constructicon colors, since the Actual Scoruplator figure seems to have more yellow in him. I i his claws, pegs, and barrel claws in Purple for detail, but he felt like he needed something more, so I broke out Pral's own stickers. The foil red and yellow clash somewhat, an if I had a better iea for what he needed, I might have redone them. But the stickers are applie now, so I'll leave them be. I intened to experiment with an ink wash on the tail, but some of the green is flaking off, giving him a nice used look. So I think I'll leave that be. So here he is, beating up a poor defenseless HO scale refrigerator car, because backdrops are more fun than my bedroom floor.
Here he is in G1-esque blaster mode. That's Menasor holding him for scale and Energon Battle Ravage's scope gun for a barrel extender. I think I might paint that to match him.
And a hose-gun form like the original Arms Micron figure was intended.
And with TAV Roadblock for color comparisons.
