The hands on the shoulders don't look as bad from this angle. What actually makes them apparent and visually stick out is the light paint on the bot fingers. Maybe if they kept all the fingers a uniform color or painted them darker, they would blend in more on the alt mode.

I literally had my mouth agape when looking at this guy. He's just amazing. Preorders are apparently opening "very soon"

All the bot mode pictures show the wings spread wide open. But from the hinges on the wings it looks like they can fold up.

I'm getting kind of gun shy with headmasters lately. sold off to code get the new subscriptions chromedome, Thinking about selling off smart robin and get the Hasbro Brainstorm. Mouth Plate!!

I'm going for the IDW look for these guys.

I like the homage to the hypnotic speakers.

I've been sort of the opposite of late. I've been desperately trying to pick up the Alternate Version Headrobots kit for Universe Hothead, you know, that one with the face instead of the faceplate. And I've been thinking about Virus a bunch.

I see Hasbro Brainstorm more as a refutation of TW's Brainwave rather than of Smart Robin, who's different enough for me to pass off as a different character.

At any rate... where the hell are those preorders? FP may not communicate, but at least we know that if we have a production sample, the release can't be too far away...

Yeah, the head/face sculpts are really important to me. Fansproject comes close, but they never nail it. I understand they don't want to copy Hasbro's original. But come on - a faceplate on Smart Robin is really needed.

I realize he didn't have a faceplate in the Japanese series. But to me, he doesn't look like a smug genius asshole without the faceplate (sorry I am hooked on the MTMTE character)

Hey, I have no problem with MTMTE - that comic is awesome

I definitely plan on getting the Hasbro version too - he looks awesome. But Smart Robin is awesome, too... everything is awesome!!!

I thought about putting an MTMTE style crew together but my collecting habits won't allow me to do it , i just can't have one set of one particular look . Over the years now iv'e grown out of collecting lines and moved on to buying what i think represents that characters look best to me and it makes things a bit more unique for me to look at instead of having every CHUG or Prime figure or what ever .

Im not a fan of the mouth look either, but the FP body blows the Hasbro body away. I just cant see a voyager Headmaster Brainstorm standing next to a deluxe non-headmaster wheeljack repaint. I have a lot more faith in FP to get all four done in the same scale with proper headmasters.

I agree, I am not a fan of the concept that the Headmasters tower over the original Ark counterparts. Personally, I display SmartRobin with my Masterpieces because he is the same height as MP Prowl.

Concept wise, I like the Takara storyline......you know, mini cyberdroids who evolved to become Headmasters. But "Rebirth" also had great "personalities" in all 3 episodes.

The modern take on Mindwipe is so bad@ss!
