Sunday, actually.
But trust me. You're not missing much.
YEah, I know Sunday was the 4th, I was being silly, but Monday was, as I forgot, the official day for a holiday during the work week, in which banks and government offices were closed, and thus, delaying the shipping for us U.S.-ers.
Anyway, I found this issue to be totally forgettable, and very...contrived, unneeded, and cliché.
SPOILERS!Ironhide has been brought back to life on Cybertron by Alpha Trion, whose (A3's) personality as not even half as endearing as it was in the G1 cartoon.
He's not compassionate, he's not understanding, and he's really not helpful. I hope the A3 in the 'Original 13' is much more than this one appears to be.
Apparently, IH's whole purpose for being brought back is that he is the 'toughest' Autobot. Apparently tougher than Guardian robots, Omega, the Wreckers, name any powerful robot, or robots, and it appears IH is thought to be more powerful, and savvy than all of them.
Because he gets to wipe out 'The Swarm'. Ironhide exterminator is going to do by himself, what a group of underpowered, yet, numerous Autobots and the Wreckers could not do to any degree of achievement. And Ironhide was with this group in AHM, too. Wha????
I have to read it again, because I feel as though I missed something. Something that tells me that there is more to it than this.
Oh, and how awesome. Another robot returns from the dead....
SPOILERS!Ironhide finds the traitor Sunstreaker, who is still functional as we saw in some previous issue of something... IH who was so ready to clean Mirage's clock when he was the traitor, is so lonely he goes and saves Sunstreaker and brings him back to sudo-Metroplex, for A3 to repair.
And how appropriate, after having so many flashbacks, IH does not seem to remember anything recent. So he has no real ill will toward SS.
A3 is an unfeeling, and self-centered being who basically could care less about SS, except that SS actually recognizes A3, where IH has 'never heard of him'.
Was this issue needed? Did I feel any sense of knowing after this that I did not before? NO.
I think DB is rubbing off on me, but I am becoming really cynical about these comics. I really enjoyed all the previous issues of IH. But this issue just keeps us stuck where we were, all we get are A3 admitting he needs IH and that's why IH is alive again, and IH understanding his purpose here is to destroy the Swarm.
Awesome. GahhhH!!!!! Frustrated.
Need to read some good fiction. At least X-Men Second Coming has kept me interested, and excited.
I was also reading SW LOTJ Allies. My reading enjoyment needs help! Allies just showed me the type of SW book I do not want to read.
Back to IH #3. Not interesting.
