Guys, I am going to be picking up this game today, but for the XBox 360. I need to know is it worth $60 bucks? I played the first one, and was kind of not impressed with it. Granted that the game is based off the movie and I don't have high expectations, but seriously, I need some good constructive feedback on this. Thanks for the input.

Thats why I bought it for PC, 34 bucks is more than worth a week or too of casual playing until it's beaten, but 60+ is kinda step.

Thanks for the extremely informative review, Counterpunch. I can look forward to picking up this game now. I had some serious reservations after playing the first game, but your explanations were very good and I have a really good idea of what to expect. Thanks again, man. :D

Good review, you've given me hope.
I rented the first TF game for 360 and after my week of playing it, didn't really feel a need to pick it up. I may get it for cheap now tho, I'm all hyped out again.

I was worried this game would follow the same flaws, but sounds like I may just have to check this one out too.

I think my favorite part of the IGN review was them complaining because the robots you were fighting didn't just stand there and take the beating you were laying down on them.

I really don't think the IGN guys even gave the game a fair shake. Is it the best game out there? No. But it's a pretty damn well put together game, especially compared with the first movie game. Really they took a bunch of the elements I liked in the Armada game minus the minicons and bizarre collecting and then added the Decepticons as playable and then multiplayer and this game is magically delicious!

I actually liked the first game, but that may have been because I heard such bad things about it my expectations were nothing…

This one is growing on me, but I think it would have been better if it were a combination of this and the last one. This one seems a little too heavy on just killing Decepticons (don't yet know how much different the Decepticon campaign is) and not much else. Yeah, the last one was too light on having opposition to blow up, but a happy medium would have been cool. Also don't care for the timed aspect with the gold, silver, bronze crap. The cities in the new one also seem a bit generic so far and a good deal smaller. And free roam, at least the one I did, was pretty disappointing in that it was a totally barren city...not much point. The online ability is pretty fun, though.

Overall I’m probably a bit disappointed, but if you didn’t like the last one, this is quite different anyhow.

Believe me the PS3 is better than the Wii, I had a Wii but traded it in for the PS3 which has superior online, graphics and better games.

I'm getting this on Saturday hopefully, trading in the completed MGS4 so I hope to see a few of you PS3 guys on.

I still prefer my 360 to the PS3 my buddy has, tho I am a little jealous that he could play inFamous (even if he doesn't).

I read your review, but would like to see how others have enjoyed it or not. Nothing against you or your opinion, just wanted some feedback from other gamers who have gotten the XBox 360 version. Sorry, next time I wont bother asking.

I've been unsure of whether or not to get this game or not. Sixty bucks is a bit steep for me. I also wanted to buy Leader Prime.. so I dunno. After reading the awesome review Counterpunch posted and hearing other peoples reactions, I will definetly buy it at some point. I will probably go rent it first however. I had a bad experiance with the first movie's game. I don't like being timed.. not fun.. The Armada game was fun for a while. This looks alot better than both of those though. I'll probably pick it up for 360. I need a break from way too much time on Fallout 3 anyway.
I'll be sure to post my thoughts on it once I do pick it up.

Make sure you rent it first. The guys at my local Gamestop pretty much said the game sucks, but if you are an avid Transformers fan go for it. When they told me this, I pretty much put my money down on NCAA College football instead. I will probably pick this one up later when it drops in price. They said it gets really old really fast in terms of levels. This is a rental for sure for me, but like I said, I might pick up later when the price drops.

I bought the game for PS3 around 3 weeks ago, I must say its actually alot better than I thought it was going to be. However if I can break the game down into the Pros & Cons setdown.

Pros

    Outstanding graphics
The inter-cutscenes at the start and end of a mission are well carried (especially the Dcons)
The gameplay is decent and is pretty well carried out in some missions.

Cons

You cant play as good characters like The Fallen, Soundwave, Jetfire, Demolisher, Devastator etc.
Not many characters to choose from, it would have been nice to play as Sideswipe, Skids, Mudflap, Ravage etc.
The Cutscenes in opening missions are just Blue & Orange computerized scenes which are quite dull and I was hoping for.

Overall though I thought it was enjoyable from start to finish, I would strongly recommend this to PS3 owners since the graphics on it are perfect. You wont be dissapointed.

Pft.

Whatever. The problem with that rationale is that the game isn't even LONG enought to have levels 'get really old'. They didn't play it enough to even have the realization that the biggest problem with single player is that it's kind of short.

Concerning the group of people we are and the kinds of players on various Transformers boards and their intersts, you seem intently set upon disregarding the comments and reviews of fellow TF enthusiasts. Between my review here and the one at TFW, the game is pretty fairly shaken down for what it is and what it isn't.

From the sound of your posts, you have even yet to play the game.

To be honest, it doesn't matter to me if you agree or disagree with my view point on the game (though, I'm still not entirely sure you read it). What I don't want is the cluster of heresay you keep bringing up to have undue influence on anyone considering the game.

Now if someone who has actually played it comes in here and disagrees with me. Great! That's something interesting and up for debate.

Some jerks at Gamestop who are bound and gagged by corporate to hate any movie related game, should get zero consideration from anyone here. Especially with the availability of so many like minded fans around to discuss the matter with.

When the first game came out I had an original Xbox and a Wii, and nothing else, so I rented it for Wii... OMG it sucked. The game might have been fun had the controls not been so poorly implemented: Nunchuck punch left, Remote punch right, IR sensor Camera and the result? The camera flying around uncontrollably while your trying to fight decepticons. I played it all of 15 minutes and was so frustrated i nearly threw my wii mote at the wall!

So, what you are saying is that just trust you, a person I don't know in real life and distrust everybody that works in a gameing store that plays the games as soon as they come out. Hmmm...
For your information, I used to run a EB for about 7 years, I would trust a game store employee in a heart beat. We would be resposible to play the games as soon as they hit the shelf because our customers depends on us to give them the true break down of a game because we liked to keep the customers happy so they would return and buy yet more games.
AS for this forum to be pretty much a loose group of like mined Transfans, that point is moot.
We all have different levels of interests and abilities when it comes to gaming. I for one, since I moved into working for the State and getting married and having a kid, don't have the time to game like I used to back in my EB days.
So, feel free to give out advice to potential buyers, but I say this, visit a gaming store, (EB, Gamestop, Babbages..etc. ) and find a person that you trust on your games which in terms should equal your money well spent or money wasted. Do your homework before each buy.
As for getting some basic feedback from other readers or posters, perhaps you should allow a healthy response instead of a knee jerk reactions from your PC that somebody would ask for more input that they ignore your review all together and seek more reviews.
As for the game, I might check out the game the next time I go to the rental store and then perhaps I will post what I think of the game or maybe not. I am a part time gamer. I have a child with special needs and she takes up most of my time.
Till next time, CP, take a chill pill and try not to insult somebody who you think did not read your review and then posts a response for more input about a game or anything. Diversity is a wonderfull thing.
