After the trainwreck of a fanfic i'de written a while back, I figured i'de try again. Here's my attempt at starting my own little transformers universe, a long time coming. I feel my writing has gotten alot better, what are your thoughts?

Cosmic Rust

In a far off quadrant of space, far beyond most habitable planets, there’s the rust-covered remains of what was once a great and thriving civilization. What was once a sprawling metal utopia, is now a barren, oxidized wasteland speckled with small civilizations and packets of survivors. With no clear silver lining to cling to, the older bots deteriorated at an alarming rate. With no reason to push on, they eventually went into stasis, and when the rust set in, it’s all we could do to shut them down, before they pulled us down with them.

I was a young cadet in the elite guard when it happened. The scientists in Iacon had been hard at work on a brand new agent to prevent a new strain of airborn bacteria. Since we couldn’t breathe, this kind of thing wouldn’t normally be of concern, but it blew in from a nearby nebula and began corroding the planet itself. A type of rust that ate through everything at an alarming rate, an agent was needed, and before long the head scientists in Perceptor’s lab worked out a cure.

What they didn’t know, was that this new agent contained a rare mutagen that accelerated the growth and corrosive toxicity of the Cosmic Rust.

I was one of the lucky few to survive via circumstance. My name is Optimus Prime, and this the story of Cybertron in the brief few moments before the fall, and the struggle we still go through to this day.

Chapter 1.

The silence of the suburbs had been rather elusive of late. Prwol, a high ranking official from Cybertron’s law enforcement devision was in hot persuit of a gang of thieves who had just robbed the Iacon haul of records. “They had to have insider knowledge.” He thought. “It’s not my place to ask questions, but this whole thing stinks. No, concentrate! Eyes on the target.” Prowl had had a lot of trouble focusing lately. He felt off. Wrong, like he was slowly being dulled from the inside out. He figured it was just stress, but it was really effecting his performance as of late.

“Move it, get out of my way!” Prowl yelled out in front of him, his sleek alt mode blazing through the narrow suburban alley ways which held a small bizarre of sorts. “Break formation, he can’t catch all three of us!” The small red bot in the middle of the three yelled.

There were three in total, a large brutish green bot with two military grade cannons strapped to his person, and a small red cycle-bot by the name of ransack. They were notorious thieves, but they had taken on a third member, a small aerodynamic blue fembot named Flux.

“Crumplezone, you stay behind and keep him occupied, Flux, take your piece to central!”

“Why do I gotta hang back?” Crumplezone groaned
“Because you’re the strongest and the least likely to blab! We gotta go, come on!” Ransack yelled, avoiding hitting pedestrians as he sped his may under tables and between booths.

“Fine! But you owe me!” He growled “ALRIGHT!” He flipped his cannons back and fired a rearward shot at the ground, kicking up dust and debris, allowing Flux and Ransack to escape down narrow alleyways.
“Put away the cannons, you’re coming with m-“ But prowl wasn’t given the opportunity to finish.

“SHUT UP!” Crumplezone bellowed as he slammed his arms down in front of him, transforming and kicking up more debris, causing Prowl to skid headlong into a wall, crushing him into an unrecognizable heap. He had to transform to lessen the structural damage.

“Alright, if that’s how you want it…” Prowl coughed , struggling to force himself up “L-lets see what y-y-ou’ve….got…” Prowl collapsed.

“Heh, there’s a reason I have this name!” Crumplezone yelled. He bent down a ripped the red winged crest from atop Prowl’s head, wich was a mark of of great honor for Cybertron’s law enforcement. “Waste of time.”

Crumplezone proceeded to transform and speed away from the scene. “It’ll be ages before I catch up now. Still, another crest for my collection!”

Prowl’s stasis protocols were booting up. He activated his emergency beacon, and lost consciousness

Chapter 2

“It’s dark…Cold…”

“My systems…they aren’t functioning right…Something’s not right…”

“Is someone rooting around inside me? I can’t feel anything below my waist…”

“What happened? Think…”

“The alleys outside Iacon, I was in pursuit…I can’t remember though…”

“What happened next…?”

There was a flash, followed by a sharp buzzing noise

-System’s Online-

"He's coming to, we need to induce stasis now" A monotone voice said from the corner of the room.

Prowl’s optics flicked on. They slowly adjusted to the light. He was in a massive round room, with circular lights lining the ceiling.
There were two figures standing over him, but due to the lighting, he couldn't identify them. His gaze wondered downward.

He was restrained.

He lifted up only to be shoved back down by the bigger of the two bot's who he now recognized as Perceptor. He'd seen Perceptor on the news, and in logs. Now he knew something wasn't right...

“The damage to your structure is severe. If we don’t operate now, you’ll soon deactivate.” Perceptor said, a solemn tone to his voice which gave Prowl a worried feeling.

“Why..?” He muttered.

“Why what? I was tasked with operating on you, now lay back down, you need to rest”

“No, why you?” Prowl was getting worried, he knew Perceptor’s reputation as a scientist, he only ever did experiments, not operations. Not unless there was something else going on they weren’t telling him.

“He won’t tell you again” Another cold voice came from the right. A small, skinny medical droid was hunched over some monitors. “You aren't well, and you need rest, that’s all you need to know”

“But I” Then everything started to fade.

Prowl got one last look at the medical droid sliding his claw across one of the monitors . He was being put under, for now. The droid turned to look at him, and the last thing Prowl saw was one glowing, yellow eye…

"Grab the agents, we need to apply them immediately..."
