Chicago is like, an 8 hour drive from Morgantown. I'm still debating over whether it's worth it.

I kinda wanna go, but I saved so much money this year by just going with the non attendee set and buying the rest of the figures from the club. That left over a grand to blow on 3rd party stuff instead. One of these years ill make it back to botcon.

I'll have to think long and hard on this one, with my immigration stuff going as slow as it is. Fortunately, I don't have to dish out for a hotel as my wife has friends just outside Chicago

BotCon has Tweeted some interesting announcements regarding the theme and toy reveals to come for the 2015 convention:

Hey BotCon peeps! We will be revealing the BotCon 2015 set theme the week of New Years!

First and ONLY hint. It will NOT be a theme we have done before NOR will it be set in a Universe that we have used for a con set before.

Also, we will be starting the reveals shortly after we announce the theme. Ready to let you all in on the awesomeness!

2006: Beast Wars, retconed into Wings Universe
2007: Classics
2008: Shattered Glass
2009: Wings of Honor, alternate G1 Universe next to Classics
2010: Generation 2 in Wings
2011: Animated
2012: Classics vs. Shattered Glass
2013: Machine Wars in Wings
2014: Pirates vs. Knights in Wings

My only good guess would be Primax 209.0 Gamma, aka the Beast Wars Uprising Universe. Would make sense to tie into Alone Together

Rumors/speculations are going around that it might be a new Unicron Trilogy-themed set, like a redux of Armada.

That would be my second guess, actually. Why not lump Robots in Disguise into the mix, and make the theme the Transformers resurgence in popularity?

Agree there. However it would be kind of cool to see some Armada characters redone. Blurr would be my first choice followed by Scavenger (who's toy version sucked)

On a serious note, it's a good time given the molds I can assume (with no factual back-up) could be available:

- Powerlinx Starscream out of Gen. Armada Starscream
- Powerlinx Hot Shot out of Universe Hot Shot (I hate the mold, but I'm surprised this was never done)
- Scavenger out of Gen. Scoop
- Cyclonus, at long last, out of HftD Tomahawk
- Red Alert out of Prime Ratchet
- Sideways out of Gen. Chromia (new head mold would be needed, but I think this could work)
- Blurr out of Gen. Arcee (same as above)
- Galvatron out of the new Armada Leader Megatron
- Demolisher out of FoC Optimus - those shoulder pipes, right?

Lots of new Minicon options - Arms Micron molds, Gen. Targetmasters, and Gen Centuritron. Could even go crazy and do upscaled Microns, like the Race Team using Gen. Skids, CW Dragstrip, and CW Dead End.

And you could drive Minicon collectors insane and put out variants of some of the supposedly never-able-to-be-used-again molds like the Air Defense Team.

Yeah, an Armada set would be balls to the wall cool.

I like all those ideas except for the Fembot ones. Sideways I'd rather see from (aesthetic differences be darned) Animated Prowl. Best motorcycle TF toy ever made, and even has Sideways's motorcycle-front-becomes-the-robot-chest look. Just needs a new head.

Wasn't one of the failed club concepts that got my piss boiling fem-sidways from FE arcee with a new head, or was that fem cykill?
