If you’re looking for ways to help us promote this year’s convention then now you can as we’re proud to announce the release of this year’s poster for Auto Assembly 2012! The artwork has been produced for us by our in-house artist Ed Pirrie and you can download it below. Please feel free to print it off and distribute it to any sci-fi stores or comic shops near where you live, post it on any websites or forums that you visit, share it on facebook, Twitter or anywhere else that you think people may be interested!
We’ll also be releasing this shortly as a double-sided flyer with additional information about the convention on the rear and if you want copies of this to distribute, please get in touch with us at contact@autoassembly.org.uk with your name, address, where you’ll be able to get them distributed and – most importantly – how many flyers you want and we’ll get them sent out as soon as we get them printed. We’re hoping to get these distributed to stores all over the UK and sent out by all of our dealers who will be attending the convention this year, as well as handed out at as many events as possible between now and August so if you can help, please let us know.
Anyway, feel free to download the file below. Just click on the picture below for the full size image.

It's hard to believe that we are now just eight weeks away from Auto Assembly 2012, Europe's Largest Transformers Convention. It feels as if Auto Assembly 2011 has barely been behind us, but with the convention nearly upon us we wanted to give everyone a reminder that the convention is fast approaching and that tickets are selling faster than ever this year and that we are on target for a total sell out!
We're now entering our "rush period" for ticket sales - the time of the year where we traditionally sell over 50% of our tickets for Auto Assembly - so if you haven't already booked up, now is the time so you don't miss out. If you still haven't made up your mind, check out the website for all of the details about this year's event or watch the first part of our recap video on our youtube channel here:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nign7-lENd0
With seventeen guests, our biggest ever line-up of dealers, a massive new four-star venue, great free gifts for attendees including a magazine, lithograph and comic, what more could you ask for?
Auto Assembly 2012 is located in Birmingham in the centre of the UK so it's easy to get to from all parts of the country. If you are travelling from anywhere in Europe, there are affordable flights from most of Europe to Birmingham International Airport (which is on the same site as the convention hotel) and for those of you who are travelling from further afield, flights to the UK are a lot more affordable than you might think...
Registration for the full weekend (which includes access to EVERY part of the convention including all our workshops, panels and free autographs with no additional charges) is just £45 for adults and hotel accommodation is just £50 a night for a single room or £60 for a twin or double making the convention affordable for everyone!
We'll be bringing you a lot more updates over the next few weeks as the convention draws closer including great news about our displays, dealers, the cosplay competition and we'll be announcing the return of our Non-Attendee Package for those of you who can't make it. We may even be bringing you some news about Auto Assembly 2013...

Auto Assembly 2012 Kitbash Workshop Details Released
We have had a kitbash workshop at Auto Assembly for the last few years but as we are moving the convention to a new home for 2012, we wanted to do something special this year and bring all of you a brand new, improved workshop as part of Europe's Largest Transformers Convention so we've teamed up with Calloway Customs to do something brand new which we think you'll all love...
This “Blue Peter” style presentation will last approximately one hour, and will focus on how to change a stock Hasbro toy into a different character, using all the tools and tricks of the trade available. Discussing paint removal, disassembly and cleaning, spray / paint preparation and application, wheel removal, head replacement, decal application and much more.
Presented by Nick Calloway, the designer behind the popular Calloway Customs Shapeway store, and Botcon award winner Sid Beckett. This workshop will be backed up by a full “how to...” bullet-point refresher guide on the Auto Assembly website and a video of the presentation so you can follow along at home.
“We wanted to do something similar to the custom workshops other conventions offer,” said Nick Calloway, “without the practical difficulties of sixty people fighting over two soldering irons, against the clock. In this workshop you will learn all the skills you need so you can attempt a true custom in the comfort of your own home at your own pace.”
The limited edition convention exclusive upgrade kits themselves will be available to purchase at the convention and will be available to pre-order shortly from Calloway Custom Designs exclusively for convention attendees!

We will be able to get the head from Calloway's shapeway store. I've been waiting over at TFW for the official head reveal. What I would love to get the decals, but I figure as long as I get that new head, I should be able to paint something close to Marlboro Wheeljack.

Im not sure why anyone believes you need anything other than a sticker set to make a Malboro Wheeljack ? Reprolabels doesnt want to touch it because they actually think minors buy their products. (seriously) Can somebody just mass produce the damn set already ???

Hello, my name is Flashwave. I'm a minor. And I'm pretty sure Repro would have to pay to use the Marlboro logo of they printed it mass market. I can't print off and sell decals of the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus Train for pennies either, and Hasbro can't sell an obvious Volkswagon Beetle without asking VW.
print them yourself then. Any good Hobby Shop will carry wet-transfer decal paper.
Buy the paper you need that matches your printer and project, (Lasser or inkjet, white backed decal paper (encouraged for lighter color ink on dark backgfrounds or clear decal film (good for dark colors on pre-painted LIGHT backgrounds)
a solution called "Solvaset" by Walthers (my preference),
and a rattle can or airbrush bottle if your airbrushing your TFs or "Glosscoat" and "Dullcoat.
measure the space your decalling in MS Word and build your decal logo out of Text boxes and the shape tools.
Copy and trim the Marlboro logo from the Internet,
line 'em up on your paper,
print it,
let the ink dry,
take the decal paper outside and seal it in Glosscoat, being liberal with the GLosscoat but not so drowning that the Glossocat itself washes off the ink)
Allow to dry
Seal the TF parts that are being Decalled in Glosscoat
Allow to dry.
take the decal paper outside and seal it in Glosscoat (I'm serious about this. Wet transfer decals involve water. If the water is allowed to find the printer ink, it will smear and or wash off. You want this puppy bullet proof)
Allow to dry
Cut out decal, getting as close to the image as you can.
place in clean warm water for 20-30 seconds. You want the Decal to be alble to slide off the paper.
Remove from water, be sure to keep your own fingers wetter than the TF
Place Decal image off-set from where you want it and lightly slide the decal partially onto the TF. (If you have clumsy fingers, a Q-tip is encouraged. I prefer using my fingers though.)
Pull Decal paper gently out from under the Decal, keeping the end of the decal on the TF held down. Don't push too hard though, or the decal will stick to your thumb and not the TF
Dab paper towl around the decal to absorb water.
When Decal is dry, apply Solvaset until the decal film disappears. (You're melting it into the Glosscoat beneath) If air bubbles form, apply more Solvaset and carefully poke with an X-acto)
Allow to dry
Seal the decal to the TF by spraying with Dullocat

They also print Decepticon and Autobot symbols, as well as KOs of Hasbro, Bandai etc. copyrighted material, so I don't think they care about using Marlboro trademarks.
A while ago I asked them if they would make a Marlboro Wheeljack set, using "Kup's Cygars" instead of Marlboro, the reply I got pretty much stated that they don't want to make anything along the lines of Marlboro Wheeljack.
Also Rated X, the reason why a sticker set isn't enough to make a Marlboro Wheeljack is this:
The original Marlboro Wheeljack had a different head and I think a different spoiler.
