Fellow seibertronian Lockdownhunter has made us aware of a new Robots In Disguise product listing from thetoyshop.com: Hyperchange Optimus Prime. The listing only included 2 pictures of the toy in truck mode, one of which with the figure in mid-transformation, or so it seems.

This toy would be from the same size and complexity class as Hyperchange Bumblebee and Hyperchange Grimlock, who are both currently available for ordering online.

I know they're simplified kiddy toys, but I really hope Hasbro makes the entire RID cast at Hyperchange/3-Step scale. That was the only other thing keeping me from buying the AOE Flip and Change figures, aside from them all being floppy messes.

What's wrong with the Warriors ("Deluxes")? The Three-Step figure are Voyager-sized you know?

Actually according to Ryan these are a little bigger at about the same height as MP Grimlock.

What I didnt understand about the statement asking for the whole cast in this class was that they would all still be out of scale. Since easier transformations dont bother you, I would suggest getting Grimlock in the hyperchange scale (and maybe Optimus too) and then the appropriate characters in warrior class.

Thats not mid transformation. He's a triple changer. That's his Thomas the Steam Engine mode.

note: this comment does not imply disdain for these toys' "kiddyness". I'm all for kids toys being for kids.

But of course, and Thomas isn't nearly as kiddie as its show's current seasons would lead one to believe. ;)

Makes me think more of a solid red and blue Star Convoy, what with the small cab integrated into the very large trailer:

Note that I didn't say class, I said scale. They don't all have to be at the same price point, just the same approximate scale. Fixit, for example, would be either a large-ish Legion or a very small Deluxe. And the Hyperchange Grim is way, way too big for the Warrior figures. Grimlock, based on the clips we've seen, is only about two heads taller than Bumblebee.
It would be pointless anyways, since the entire reason I like these things is because they're big, chunky, and, most importantly, fun action figures that aren't extremely fiddly. They're like modernized G1 figures. Using the Deluxes just ruins the whole point of it.

Overquoting to say that Hyperchange Grimlock also have the most original and clever transformation I've ever seen on a Grimlock toy so far. And that include the MP.

I can't speak for Bumblebee, but that is not even close to accurate for Grimlock. MP Grimlock has a full inch and a half on the Hyperchange one in height, not to mention heft where they don't even compare. In Dino mode, MP Grimlock absolutely dwarfs the RiD Hyperchange T-Rex. In T-Rex mode it's close to a dead match size wise for AoE Voyager Grimlock, and the robot mode feels like the old Ultra Class without as much general bulk.

That's the only RiD toy I have thus far, and I do not regret getting him one bit, for exactly that reason. The legs are especially fresh and clever.

And the fact that he looks like Godzilla in dino mode doesn't hurt, either.

I went to TRU today they had RID Strongarm. I bought her, but I wasn't expecting them to have these out so early. Strongarm was the only one I saw, though. They did have the one step changing Sideswipe and that purple dinosaur guy. I didn't even bother to look at his name.

I have the first full wave of Warrior class figures for this line. Do not waste your money at $16.99 a piece. I can say Bumblebee and Grimlock are decent, but forget Strongarm and Steeljaw. I wish I could get my money back. They will be donated to St. Jude at the hospital I work at after Christmas.

St. Jude does great work here in my area, but they do not get very many boy toy donations for therapy and such when the kids come. My St. Jude social worker and therapist love the Transformers as they are easy to disinfect and share among the kids. If your collection is getting a little heavy and you'd like to see the figures go to some very appreciative kids in need...I cannot recommend donation enough. I've been doing it for years. :D

$8 for a legion figure your kidding me right? I really hope TRU is just price gouging again cause if thats normal price im not buying a damn thing until theres a markdown. I do have a TRU gift card & $5 reward voucher but ill save them for the upcoming neca alien figures & new bionicle sets (if they dont screw the prices that is).

TRU jacks up the price by 2-3 dollars like they normally do, inflation increases it even more. Plus, as someone else already said on these forums, US prices have been much lower than everywhere else for a while now; it's just that we're finally catching up to the rest of the world.

Deluxes have been 16-17$ in Canada for years. They are 20-35$ in Europe, Australia, and Japan. Seriously, you Americans are so used to pay everything for dirt cheap. No wonder you get startled when the prices finally get normal instead of always-on-clearance.

Ya. Dirt Cheap. That's how it gets done down here. We pay everyone else pennies to do our dirty work for us, and expect to get paid ridiculous wages to do nothing at all. It's in our Constitution. Why should we care about or take care of other people,(like in other countries) when it's so hard to take care of ourselves.

"RiD 2001" for the Car Robots-based line from 2001
"Prime RiD" for the Prime sub-line
"RiD 2015" for this line.

That all sounds good too me. Thanks.

I'm not really disgusted by this line. I don't have any yet. I think the character design is pretty neat. Especially the beasty Cons. Interested to see what they do with Thunderhoof.

I'm gonna start small with Legions and maybe work up. Just like I did with Prime. I hope they take a Cyberverse route. Who doesn't like having playsets for their little robos to battle on?

We already have RID. Is this NEW RID, RID15, TRID?
What should we call it?

CRID (Car Robots in Disguise) for the 2001 series, PRID for the Prime toyline/subline, and either TRID or TFRID for the 2015 series.
