So it it looks like Transformers is going to be the new Farmville, and more.
TakaraTomy has started an interesting deal with Interspace. Inc to release social media content and more. This content will be available for smart-phones and mobile phones (cell phones).
From the sounds of this article (google translation available here), this content will be a card game, cartoon episodes and the chance of more game content down the road.

The car game will come with new high quality artwork which will likely please long-time fans, in short it's G1. We have mirrored the attached preview for your viewing pleasure.

No word if this will be available outside of Japan.

hmm... Don't really know how I feel about this. It seems like a good idea, but who's it marketing too besides real fans? Kids who see VW Bumblebee say "That's not Bumblebee, I saw the move!" That always makes me cringe and die a little inside...
BTW In the second paragraph you called it a car game :P

I guess that's neat, but I'm more into how some of the art's based on the Studio OX models, Hot Rod and Superion mainly, Arcee might be too. That's pretty cool that the artist did that.
I wonder if any of the others are based on the Studio OX models. Image

Everything is a trade off. I'll put up with stuff like that (and realistically, I don't know many kids) for something like this. Plus if you don't like something you can always ignore it.

there's some hope for kids yet.

a few days ago i was waiting for a bus and i saw this little boy, maybe 6-7 yrs old carrying around the masterpiece Hot Rod. it worried me seeing a display made collectible being treated like a regular toy but the fact it was a G1 toy made my heart smile. lol
