There's tons. Unfortunately, most are now nope priced on the secondary market.

But as I said, look for lots of old Generations toys or old Movie toys on eBay. If you can tolerate the occasional missing gun or missiles, you can have great things for pretty cheap. Especially because WFC and SS made most of the "outdated."

Like the old leader Movie 2007 Optimus Prime. He's zero percent accurate but he's huge, look powerful, and is a ton of fun to transform. Also, lights and sounds, plus rubber tires!

Yea... that messed up paint on my T30 Arcee is irking me. Almost tempting to look into third party Arcees, but none appear to be voyager/deluxe sized...

Anyway, that's off topic. I am tempted by the SS86 Arcee, but I dunno... I don't want to accumulate a bunch of characters that are disappointing.

SS86 Arcee is the T-30 Arcee with some improvements.

So, that's a no-brainer.

Fair enough, but what do I do with my T30 Arcee if I replace it with SS86 Arcee? It's hardly worth reselling.

As I said, if you get SS Bee Movie Arcee, try to swap their heads.
You'll also have extra weapons.

Roger, Roger. SS Bee Movie Arcee has been ordered! :-)

This is interesting:

I already own G1 Fortress Maximus so I don't need the downgrade. Kinda surprised Seibertron didn't post this news though... if they reissued T30 Metroplex and/or Siege Omega Supreme [I'd get a second one] I might be motivated to make more room...

KINGDOM Cyclonus you mean.
He's good and the Selects version should be easy and cheap to get.

Cheerfully corrected: Kingdom Cyclonus.

Is Kingdom Cyclonus better or worse than 86 Blurr though as the latter is significantly cheaper.

The comparison make no sense.
It's like asking what is better between a nail and a pineapple.

I guess? You could generalize it and just ask "Which do you think is the better toy?" :saint:

Meaning on the toy's own merits?

The SS86 Blurr mold is rather bad, IMO.
The Kingdom Cyclonus mold is fantastic. That includes Legacy Metalhawk as well. And if you care about the lore, and you're getting Black Zarak, consider Legacy Metalhawk.

Also, look up the Japanese series
Transformers Masterforce. It's excellent and stands on its own. In it, you will see Zarak and Metalhawk.

Thanks as always! Any chance you know where to watch the Japanese series? Looks like DVDs may be available on eBay, but they seem kinda sketchy...

If you don't mind watching anime in Japanese with English subtitles, you'll have an easier time finding legitimate DVDs. Usually, it's the very last 3 seasons of the G1 cartoon bundled together. It's called the "Japanese G1 Trilogy".

And if you can't find the disks, well, just sail the Seven Seas.

Oh, God of Transformers, I beseech thy help!

I obtained a replacement Sky Lynx and it appears to have a similar issue where I cannot tab the back parts together. Is there a trick to it? Or is he really only attached in the front. Photo, pointing out the issue:

Actually, I got it to work. I had to push down a little harder than I would have liked. This one doesn't appear to have the warped leg, so that's a plus. Still, if there's a trick to it I would appreciate knowing.

There's no "tricks", really. You just have to push in and that's it. Don't forget the little white lever below Sky Lynx's neck to separate the halves again.

When in doubt, just watch a video review. Often, I stumble upon an "impossible" step, or a part that is way too stiff for comfort when I try to transform a bot on my own. Then I look up the video review to make sure I'm not messing up. Sure enough, often you just have to BRUTE FORCE your way in. But before you do, always make sure to double-check the video.

The recent bot where that happened to me was with the TRUE LEADER ROTB Optimus Primal from Takara. The bot head is on a panel that need to SNAP down in order to transform the thing into a proper gorilla. That panel is thin so it was scary to force it. But yeah, that's what was needed to do.

Glad for you you could get a replacement.
But be VERY careful with UV lights or to display your Sky Lynx near a sunny window.

The thing is sensible to yellowing.

That's what happened to mine. #-o

G Optimus is pretty nice overall and he's much simpler to transform than the original deluxe. But there's two annoyances that irk me. First, the fact that the truck mode does not have a rear end. It's just a huge gap. Second, I understand the arm-swapping gimmick for the gun. But you can only shove up his arm up his ass to store it. It is a silly design choice and it's not secure. However, both problems will be fixed with the upcoming DNA Design upgrade kit. A kit that is ironically much more expensive than the entire bot. I already bought and installed some filler pieces to fill in his hollow limbs and I bought the Repros already. So I'll fully commit with the DNA Design kit and have a 150$ Gamer Optimus in the end. He's worth it.

TlDr; If you're not willing to pay 4 times the price to improve G Optimus, he's just average at best.

As for the Volvo Optimus, I bought the Holiday Optimus last year so I don't need the "normal colored" one. Appart the ultra bland trailer (fixed with the kick-ass Reprolabels for him.) The Optimus himself have interesting twists and turns for transformation and he look fantastic in both modes. The mold is a solid purchase, no matter the version.

If you get the Volvo Optimus, you may want to buy THIS REPRO SET for his trailer. It will look cool and will be different enough from the regular ER Optimus. I'm even considering double-dipping on the mold and get the regular Volvo Optimus just because of that stickers set. :-?
