Yes I most certainly am! It seems like it's a lot faster than the Sony DSC-H1 that I had. The image stabilizer seems to work a lot better as well. It seemed like about 1 in 10 pics or so used to turn out slightly blurry with close-ups on my last camera in spite of the image stabilizer. That doesn't seem to happen with this camera. I don't think a single pic of Magnus or Dinobot turned out blurry.
I'm trying to finish up the white figures so that I can switch back to the white background to finish up the other galleries that I was in the middle of back in December such as the Combaticons, Aerialbots and few other others that I started but never finished. Some of the unfinished galleries are ones that I started all the way back in the fall of 2005.

At some point ALL of them I hope!
But you can realy see the difference in resolution with this new camera. These pictures are way clearer. Also I like the black backdrop you've used this weekend, it ads an extra edge in bringing out paint and fine details. Please don't put it to far away!
As for me, my job just sent me a new Stylus, so I can't wait to try it out tomorrow. I only mention it, cause, you know, a relatable joy

Looking at that... I would go for the white Ultra Magnus. And I hate Pat Lee's version of Ultra Magnus, so that's saying a lot.
Edit: Gahhhh... I forgot to thank Seibs for the toy pics.
Thank you, Seibertron!

Wow!?! You would? I absolutely love G1 Ultra Magnus and would totally justify spending another $200 bucks if need be to get a MP Magnus with a transformable trailer/armor. The mere thought makes me giddy like a school girl. And if they follow that up with a MP Shockwave & Grimlock and I am set for life.
Thanks for the pics Seibs!

I agree. It's like having 600DPI instead of 72DPI for print. I know 72DPI is as good as the 'net gets, but it ultimately allows me to do more with the original images plus the amount of detail and clarity in the image is unprecendented.
Also I like the black backdrop you've used this weekend, it ads an extra edge in bringing out paint and fine details. Please don't put it to far away!
I really like it as well but now I've got the opposite problem ... I'm getting a backlog of dark characters that need the white background. I need to figure out a way to make the background easier to switch. If only I had a larger table setup so that I could have both backdrops up at the same time. Hmmm ...
As for me, my job just sent me a new Stylus, so I can't wait to try it out tomorrow. I only mention it, cause, you know, a relatable joy
I love photography. I have so much fun just taking picture after picture. Different angles, different positions, different lighting. One of these days, I'll get around to posting a personal website that has some other pics that I've taken.
Here's one of my favorite photos that I took last June of the sunset over Wrigley Field (Chicago Cubs) when I was at a rooftop party in Lincoln Park, Chicago. And no, it's not a photoshopped picture. It really turned out just that damn cool. I used my Sony DSC-H1 camera (the one that broke in NY) to take this photo.

I think a lot of people would gladly pay for the magnus armor...although realistically speaking i think we will see a nemesis prime repaint before we see armor for mags(not that i'm complaining about that, i'd actually buy a black repaint it would save me some trouble )

I would love some armor for this. But after MP-04's release, I have a feeling that Takara will release ultimate Masterpiece versions for later down the road. Think it was an accident that MP-01 didn't come with a trailer, MP-02 didn't come with armor, MP-03 didn't come in more popular anime correct colors and that MP-05 isn't coming with the Walther P-38 extensions?
I have a feeling that MP-04 is the first of ultimate Masterpiece figures. I wouldn't be surprised to see another version of MP-04 in 2 to 3 years that comes with more accessories, including Roller. I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of years down the road if they release a better version of MP-05 with the gun extensions and maybe a G1 themed sticker sheet and maybe something else to make it more enticing. I guarantee that we'll see an anime colored Starscream at one point as well as a slew of repaints (which I think the fans will truly enjoy). I only hope that at some point, they touch upon Magnus again and release a set of armor for him. That would be awesome.

I know.
The pictures of his box with the white background were originally taken on January 31st, 2006. I think that's around the time that I bought the black background but I couldn't figure out how to make the figures look good with the settings that I was using on my camera at the time.
My mom, who is also into photography, gave me some suggestions for the camera to obtain a more solid background. Mainly, she recommended that I adjust the metering mode from "multi" to "center", which makes the world of difference with the the Sony DSC-H series of cameras. My original Sony DSC-71 camera's metering mode didn't seem to make any difference at all. It basically makes the camera focus it's color concentrations on whatever's in the middle of the camera, which I'm assuming is translated as being the closest item in the field of range for the camera. The camera then tries less to focus or include the background so it gets whited, greyed or blacked out more than it did when I used the "multi" metering setting.

Personally i would buy the armor +figure just to have both versions displayed. I am however curious as to everybody elses opinions on the matter.

I'm pretty sure they would do it just like MP-04 where they would try to maximize their profits by reusing the original mold again packaged with the new product.
To answer your question though, in a picture-perfect world where Takara would release JUST the armor in a special package, I would definitely just buy the package unless they somehow modified the primary figure.

I'm still on the fence about whether or not 20th Anniversary DVD Optimus Prime should go with the Classics galleries or with the Masterpiece figures. I think it should go with the Masterpiece line.

Ryan, I noticed that you and I are having the trouble with photographing MP Magnus's box. It's hard to take a picture without a reflection or glare appearing on the box. I've tried using a polarizer and various angles but it's tricky.
Talking about interesting shots. I liked your photo of the Matrix.

Why not just add a link in both sections?
If it will only be in one, I vote for MP.

The following picture is a perfect example of where the depth of field has been messed up with the last two cameras. I am focusing on Magnus in this picture, but Prime is still in focus as well.
Actually, that might not be as good of an example as the following. Here's a pic of Classics Magnus where I was focusing on his head. Notice how the rest of his body in the picture is blurry.
The depth of field problem is no where near as noticeable in the following image with the new camera:
Now, perhaps it's the difference of using the black background versus the white background (though this shouldn't make a difference in my opinion). I'm not fairly comparing apples to apples here ... the examples above are like comparing apples to oranges. This makes me want to set up a test environment with the old camera and the new camera to see if there really is a difference because it's not a feature listed for the DSC-H5. Problem is, without the LCD on the H1, it's tough for me to take a picture that's in focus for some reason (of course, there could be something wrong with the camera other than just the LCD screen).
EDIT: Hm, maybe it's just my imagination. I was looking through the Ratchet gallery and he seems to be pretty in focus. It was always with the larger figures that I had more of the depth of field problem, which is why I've stayed away from Fortress Maximus.
On that note, many of you will be happy to know that I have just about finished the process of getting all of the pieces for Fort Max and Scorponok that I was missing. I've even got a set of the Master Swords coming so that Fort Max can have his sword at last (and then I don't have to get the Japanese version). The only piece that I would like to own before I do the gallery is the sword for Cerebros. Heck, I don't even care if it's one of the repro swords from transrepro.com, but the website appears to be running on autopilot for the time being (has anyone heard from the owner of that website since November of last year?).
Grand Max update: I have decided that I'm not going to wait for Grand Maximus to do the Fort Max gallery unless fate somehow intervenes between now and when I take the Fort Max gallery in the next few months. Grand Max and Black Zarak will have to wait for later down the road unfortunately.

Nope your not imagining it. Camera technology can be a blessing or a hinderance at times. Your older camera was probably using an older autofocus technology compared to your new camera.
Professional cameras have a lot of options on them to allow the user to change the settings so they are completely in control. Most people use a camera that is much more simple and the camera's computer calculates most of the settings. But don't trust a camera's computer to calculate all the settings properly. Your eye and brain see things differently than a camera's computer. That is why your Mom told you to change the focusing field.
I'm not sure what kind of settings are available on your Sony Camera. You may want to play with the Aperature setting if you want to control the bluriness.
